Change of plans.

Well, I don’t think I’m getting the Golf TDI…

My dad’s springing for a new car for me, but he doesn’t want to go that expensive ($285/month). He said he’ll go to $200/month. That definitely cuts down my options. (I have to get a brand new car)

I tested a Special Value Cavalier, and I liked it for the most part (much more than the Civic coupe), but I like the way the Sunfire looks better. Is there any advantage to buying either the Sunfire or the Cavalier over the other?

Can anyone think of a coupe/hatch under $13-14k other than Cavalier, Focus, Civic, Accent, and Sunfire? I won’t be modifying this thing for years, so that’s not a concern.

As of right now, I’m thinking black Sunfire special value package… I can get it for around $170/month.

you need to convince you dad to go for something certified used. Friends dont let friends drive sunfires/cavaliers.

it has to be new. his only guidelines are “new” and “$200/month”.

to be honest, at this point i’d rather have a cheaper new car than a used car that’s more “respectable”. i want a daily driver that i can account for every mile…so i know there wasn’t a previous owner that ignored oil changes, routine maintanence, etc… I have the Swift to sink money into.

keep doing this instead of making 4000 threads at a time
fuck!

Why don’t you take the $200.00 your dad is given you, and add some of your own cash to get a diffrent car?

i’m already going to be chipping in around $300 a month for full-coverage insurance. (i’m 21, i’ve lost my license four times)

4 times??? are you serious?

please list why in the next post

thanks

  1. forgot to pay a ticket
  2. forgot to pay a ticket
  3. accumulation of points
  4. accumulation of points

It’s never been gone for more than 60 days.

how many tickets have you got?

Ouch  In my opinion your best option would be. A used car thats payed off, with just the legal limits on coverage. paying more a month for ins. than the car payment is nuts.

probably around ten since i was 17 (1999).

several speeding, one careless driving, one “failure to use safety restraint”, one for lapsed inspection

i think i have like 16 moving violations… I win

if my dad is making the payments for a car in my name, i’m really only paying $300/month total, and buying a new car would be great for my credit score. I have a used car with minimum coverage now.

whats anothe 50 bones out of your pocket for a better car…or try to get a demo or last years left over

before getting a sunfire atleast look at the grand am…i think they can be had pretty cheap

another $50/month only goes another $2500-3000 on a new car…

so instead of a Cavalier with snap n’ shines, i could get a Cavalier with alloys and a sunroof?

fuuuuuck.

i just got some insurance quotes…

Progressive - $1799/six months
GEICO - $2241/six months

hahahaahahahhaha

i have all those moving violations, lost my license twice, have 7 points and i pay 538 for 6 months!!! i carry a 100/100 comp and collision… hahahahah I win on the insurance game!!

are you on parents’ insurance?

i switched to Allstate this year…there rates for me were bye far the cheapest
