My dad’s springing for a new car for me, but he doesn’t want to go that expensive ($285/month). He said he’ll go to $200/month. That definitely cuts down my options. (I have to get a brand new car)
I tested a Special Value Cavalier, and I liked it for the most part (much more than the Civic coupe), but I like the way the Sunfire looks better. Is there any advantage to buying either the Sunfire or the Cavalier over the other?
Can anyone think of a coupe/hatch under $13-14k other than Cavalier, Focus, Civic, Accent, and Sunfire? I won’t be modifying this thing for years, so that’s not a concern.
As of right now, I’m thinking black Sunfire special value package… I can get it for around $170/month.
it has to be new. his only guidelines are “new” and “$200/month”.
to be honest, at this point i’d rather have a cheaper new car than a used car that’s more “respectable”. i want a daily driver that i can account for every mile…so i know there wasn’t a previous owner that ignored oil changes, routine maintanence, etc… I have the Swift to sink money into.
Ouch  In my opinion your best option would be. A used car thats payed off, with just the legal limits on coverage. paying more a month for ins. than the car payment is nuts.
if my dad is making the payments for a car in my name, i’m really only paying $300/month total, and buying a new car would be great for my credit score. I have a used car with minimum coverage now.
i have all those moving violations, lost my license twice, have 7 points and i pay 538 for 6 months!!! i carry a 100/100 comp and collision… hahahahah I win on the insurance game!!
