on the cheepest car as a primary the insurance will still be the same on the car because of what the loan agent requires for full coverage.
Try erie and allstate.
If you are looking for reliable there is nothing wrong with a cav or a sunfire. I have had mine for almost 3 years have about 39k on it and have had no problems. As long as you take care of it and don’t try racing every ricer that revs at you on the street it will be fine.
You may beable to pick up a over stock 03 or 04 for even cheeper than 200 a month then maybe your dad can kick the remander towards your insurance.
Also if you don;t have your own insurcance you should really think about getting it no matter what. Right now insuracne companys look for 7 years of your own insuracne prior to giving you premium rates. also after 3 years from the time your violations disapear they are not supposed to be able to hold it against you, but that doesn;t always happen…
I will give you the # for our Allstate agent… for two cavaliers w/ full coverage and a beater truck w/ liability we pay like $160/month. Granted we don’t have any moving violations between the two of us, and the only claim (for my hospital bills from the wreck) they promised me wouldn’t raise the rates. But he got some great rates for a girl here at work who had a few accidents and has a cavalier.
I can’t speak for the reliability of them, because I bought my cavalier used… and some retard at the dealership let a kid who didn’t know how to drive a stick take it for a test drive (I found this out because the kid lived at Mike’s firestation).
:dunno: my g/f has a 2001 black sunfire and her payments are 280/mo and her insurance is 250/mo on Geiko. i usually drive it to work every night since my car isn’t inspected. she got dropped by erie because she’s had 3 wrecks (1 of which was her fault). all and all its a ok car for daily driving purposes.
I say look for a leftover or a demo with some miles on it…might luck up and find a
SE-R, SVT focus
shit you can afford
Mazda 3 (maybe new base model)
Kia spectra–new model just came out
Kia Rio
Hyundai Elantra
Hyundai Accent
Ford Focus
Chevy Aveo
Chevy Cavilier
Saturn Ion
Nissan Sentra
Suzuki Aerio
Suzuki Forenza
Toyota Corolla
Toyota Echo
Toyota Scion xB
Toyota Scion XA
Dodge Neon
Honda Civic
and a lot of these are gonna be stripped down base models
If you can’t find a good deal on a demo or leftover…and have to get new…personally i’d say go for the new mazda 3 or sentra SE(even thought the new grill is ugly)… if they fall in your range
Bang for your buck suzuki is a decent car (options warrenty etc…)
my wife has a aerio SX got it back when they came out in 2002.
trying to get the most for her money it was the best choice out of the stuff she was looking at…aerio sx, elantra GT, protege, focus
the Aerio had the most power, options, and a better warrenty at that time.
Also Toyota is pushing the Scions hard, so maybe you can get a deal if you like the look.
