China Bride Gias

^^ they can also be made in the USA from Bride California…i think?

Bing you are mistaken. Mike is right. These seats are still knock offs. They are not made in Japan like every Bride seat is. Bride has a distributor in Cali but they are not made there.

Whatever the case, if you are low income then buy something that suits your budget and is legit not the knock off deal. I know Im a whiny bitch about this but you gotta understand that if we want to keep modding our cars in 5-10-15 years then buying parts from companies that legitimately make and design the products is the only way this industry will survive. Its already taken a beating and with the economy being the way it is, companies are really feeling the pinch so every sale counts.

ah okay, i must have mis read…

have they decided what the new brand will be called?

i know one of the guys involved made a thread on ZT about what the new brand will be.

You guys have to remember that this is SON. Everyone wants to buy cheap shit. And you can’t really compare a knock off exhaust to a knock off seat, especially one that is reclinable. An exhaust is very generic and it’s just metal.

A seat is a lot more complicated and you definitely do not want your seat to snap off, whether by the actual mounts, or at the spot where it reclines in the event of an accident.

But again, this is SON.

Well I just contacted a guy that distributes the China Gias and this is what he had to say:

Quality is excellent,i woul say they are just as good as any comparable Sparco or recaro in this price range.

I can ship to canada, best price i can do is $950 shipped for a pair.

You can use the bride rails, or get rails from Wedge Engineering

Anyways, this is a lot cheaper than a real pair of Gias seats which would cost over $3000. I’m been looking for information on any failures and stuff with these seats or even the Bride Brix 2 knockoffs and can’t seem to find any. I really need to grab a seat soon. I hate holding myself up by the steering wheel haha.

And Mark, your biased cause you have a China exhaust and an authentic seat :P.

Then get the comparable Sparco or Recaro if it’s in the price range. It blows my mind that people would choose fake shit over real shit, just because it’s a JDM brand. That’s pretty much the definition of ricer.

haha :stuck_out_tongue: I know it might seem like I’m biased, but for an exhaust, it’s pretty much generic. There’s no moving parts at all, it’s just metal being welded together. It’s like aluminium subframe spacers, exhaust manifolds, etc

However, I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but a knock off BUCKET seat probably isn’t as unsafe as a knock off reclinable, that’s all I have to say.

Seats are on a much different level.

I remember bing had a post regarding knock off shit vs real shit.

He said something like:
knockoff bov = no
knockoff turbo = no
knockoff downpipes = yes

etc, shit like that.

By the way, if you want to get the rails + sliders. It’s $300 for the Bride MO seat rail. Per side. Pretty pricey but it’s worth the money.

knock off multi-link = no
knock off outter tie rods = no

but mark, you already know that…lol

i always get asked why i dont run all of the unbranded stuff i sell… i do run alot of it… elbow, downpipe, test pipe, pullies, subframe bushings, intake adn exhaust manifolds etc. etc.

all the stuff that works well when installed right.

but i dont run shit coilovers, catback, FMIC and some other parts that i could easily replace with workable knock off stuff… the reason is simply because i can afford not to… i see people misunderstand that alot.

some of the knock off stuff is perfectly acceptable to use… i just prefer the N1 Dual thats all.
