I just caught this on espn.com. This is seriously ridiculous that players can’t handle the game they play. Checking is a part of hockey. This is up there with the Bertuzzi hit and Marty McSorley. Even though I despise Donald Brashear, none of that is neccessary. All three of those guys just make hockey look bad when it’s not a strong market to begin with.

damn… i seen an accident on a tv show last night called “holy @#$!”
and some player went for a slapshot and another player skated in his way and got cracked in the eye full force… guy had to get surgery and shit done. (played for the maple leafs i think)
thats totally different. taking a shot and hitting someone is nothing like intentionally swinging your stick at someones head to hurt them. the impact may feel the same, but the shot is an accident
