Yeah, Citi is in BAD shape. Pretty much every market that went south, they were in. Fortunately, they’re probably big enough to weather the storm. The Buffalo jobs are mostly low-level operations stuff, so they should be relatively safe, but still…

Eeep. I have my student loans through Citi. That really sucks. I can’t believe how many people are losing jobs right before the holidays.

Most of the jobs at the new crosspoint citi are very low level operations, this is true. They jobs that they can’t outsource to india are staying here, and they are moving jobs from NYC to Buffalo and Florida as a cost cutting measure, and offering people way less money to work here.
I think they are shedding the pork to weather the storm here guys. They got that huge loan from Dubai a year or so back to get capital, everyone critized them. Now banks were going under, not able to get capital at any cost.
I’ve been trying to transfer to the Citicenter in Tampa, there should be plenty of work opening up there soon. Several people are jumping ship.
This is true. Operations jobs are relatively safe, especially at the end of the ear like this. It’s the analysts and traders that have to watch their backs.
Don’t worry about your loans. They’ll be there. 
Meh, there are better loans, architecurally, but that is pretty bad ass. I want to borrow money from Dubai some day.

I accidentally, all of the jobs at citi.
they already cancelled the xmas party a couple of months ago… i was really bummed about that.
most of buffalo should be safe, but my department works closely with nyc… and they’re probably the ones getting the ax. citi as a whole will be fine. thankfully they don’t have all their eggs in one basket like a lot of other banks did.
great now my school loan next year will be at 20%

I work at Citi crosspoint, we travel back and forth to Queens a few times a year for training, but I make Buffalo money…
