Cleaning FMIC?? *Internally*

hey everyone,

As the topic says, is there a proper way or even a way to clean the core of an FMIC?

Specific Liquids? Specific Tools?

Thanks a lot.

Do you mean interior, or exterior?

If it’s interior, buy a 4L jug of denatured alchohol.
Cap off one end of IC, pour and shake!

I use simple green and a preassure washer on my dads car to clean the IC, you have to make sure that when you use the pressure washer that you have the water set on a large fan not on a point, and that you hold it a good 3-4 feet back from the IC so that you dont bend the fins.

No i meant how to clean the “Interior” Of The FMIC but thanks for the other tips!

Anyone know a proper method for cleaning out the inside of the FMIC??

Thanks again!

Mineral Sprits Its like Varsole but not as corrosive.

I’d try a solution of CLR & water. Cap off one end, pour the solution in and let it stand for 10-20 minutes. Empty & rinse thoroughly with water.

Go to home depot and find yourself some BORIC ACID, its crazy corrosive, it’s used to clean alluminum and other metals before chroming, plug your intercooler off , fill it half way, let it sit, turn it over the way, let the half sit, then dump into a sealed container and dispose of. WARNING: this will burn your skin, stink ur house up and eat any paints, finishes, grease anything, it also destroys asphalt, but concrete holds up.

break parts cleaner is the best i find you can use this and for exterior cleaning use the aluminum wheel cleaner stuff
