Clutch bearing noise...

for the last while my car has been making a whining noise from the clutch …when the pedal is pushed IN it will slowly come to a stop when it is OUT it will whine…

i think its the main bearing otherwise known as trow out bearing ?

i went to nissan today with what i thought was the right part number but turns out its not i had the pilot bushing part number…and since they wont look it up for me casue its SR20 parts…ill ask here…

so first i wanna know if im even trying to buy the right part and does anyone have the part number for a SR20 transmission trowout bearing?..if thats even what its called?

basicly the main bearing in the trasmission…unless im wrong ?

Miine does that same thing but does not seem to effect anything, but i have a ka24det with a stage 3 clutch.

why wont nissan look up sr20 parts?

Yeah its not affecting the car or anything just annoying noise and eventally will sease up if you leave it …its been like this since i took the car out from winter…and about a month at the end of last summer so…

and i guess the parts manager at the dealer i go to wants nothing to do with 18 year old cars…thats what he told me today …seems really rude for a dealer to just ignore there own brand of cars casue its old eh ? espically a car like mine with sr but i guess thats the way it is …

witch dealer did you go to i am going to go give his ass shit and teach him a lessen

Im pretty sure they can if u have a parts #

They call it a release bearing. I dont know if their the same as the Ka ones, but if so I just picked up the last one in Ontario from Agincourt Nissan. They’ll have to ship one in from vancouver.

pretty sure the release bearing for KA / Sr ar the same …

well hopefully they are…

they are the same

ka and sr

Have the same problem, looking to eventually upgrade clutch and flywheel so I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it

go with a aftermarket bearing like exedy or act they sold the bearing when you order the clutch so they might have the bearing only.
