We’ve filled the CNC position but are now looking for cabinetmakers / carpenters.
Perform duties in fabrication of custom millwork: cabinets, counters, reception desks, and similar products. Products contain plastic laminate, wood, solid surface, and a variety of materials. Shop employee needs to understand scope of work by reviewing shop drawings before work begins. Some field installation, both local and out of town, may be asked of the shop employee. Ability to work well with others a must, as we value team work, and coordinating our efforts towards a good end result.
The field installation may or may not apply to your position so if you aren’t thrilled about travel, I wouldn’t worry about it. Most of what we do is Buffalo / Rochester. If there’s an interest, please let me know and I’d be happy to talk to you about it. Thank you.

A little off topic, but how expensive is this type of work to procure? I bought a stainless steel piece of art and would love a circular wooden frame made, which also fills in the entire back of the piece. I’m not sure how to get this made…

I’d love a 3" “edge” around it, 2" high, as the actual frame. However, the tricky part is that I’d want the back to be solid, so that I can attach the art on stand-offs and it’d be wood showing behind the art as well.
Thoughts? Does that description make sense? Is that something a CNC machine can be used for?
I would take hardwood blanks and glue them in a square, or diamond pattern if you will, and then CNC a circle, then turn it over and CNC a “step” in the back of the circle to accept the artwork and a plywood backer for a background. I could try to figure up a price with a little more info. It’s not gonna be a $50 project though. Is this 6" or 6’ round?
You could probably do this with a router and a circle template/jig.
Also true. Not sure of his tools / abilities. Cost could come down if we could run this out of 3/4" plywood. I could edgeband the inner / outer edges. Grain would all run one direction then.
