PC is definitely much better as long as your PC is set up for it

All the consoles that are out right now are on older hardware. DICE has been quoted as saying quality differences will be PCs will have “The higher resolution, the higher frame rate, the anti-aliasing, the motion blur, stuff like that.”
The only gameplay difference will be that the PC has 64 players while consoles will only have 24.

That’s my biggest gripe about consoles. That, and I can’t play FPS without a mouse.
My biggest gripe about PC gaming is you only have the fastest and best rig for a few weeks then something new comes out which is not longer the best for the next wave of games. Consoles at least is one investment that is a consistent platform for a few years for example, if you got the Halo 3 a few years ago with your Xbox, you can know that you will be fine to play Halo Reach when it came out and not wonder “Shit do I need a new video card/more ram/processor/etc to actually experience all this game has to offer?”.
I def agree that console are for more casual gamers for that reason while PC gamers are more intense and like to spend more money on their hardware.
I’m still playing Battlefield 2 on my PC that I bought 6 years ago and destroying guys with newer rigs. And I’m playing newer games like Starcraft II.
The key is to buy the best PC you can at the time and it will last you a long time. And the price of entry limits those 10-year-olds who want to team-kill you for a chopper, then crash it immediately on takeoff.

BF2 is really old, so even the best rigs are bottlenecked by BF2s requirements. The only really advantage you can get is by loading the map first and either getting a jet/chopper first or capping flags before people spawn. If you want to load the maps faster in BF2 your best asset is either a 10,000+ RPM drive or an SSD. The rest comes down to skill.

Beta comes out this week! I will be on Xbox Live. We used to have decent parties at night when COD was out so hopefully we can get a group playing this too.
I got invited to the alpha, but never got a chance to install it. Gotta beef up my computer for BF3…

This is why I am a console gamer. Never was big on dumping money every year into a PC for the latest equipment after Counter Strike Source came out. I love consoles. Buy the game and it works.

More of a want than a need. I’m only running 4GB of ram, I want to step it up to 8. I have parts for a new rig, but I don’t have the $2000 to drop on it. and that’s only a processor/Mobo/Ram/SSD

As bad as it sounds, that is a huge criteria I’ve been using while house shopping. It needs to accommodate 20 nerds with computers. Haha.
