Come Play Battlefield (BF2, BF3 & Now BF4)

Honestly…kinda of disappointing so far. It’s more like BFBC2 and not like BF2.

I’m reserving full judgement until I can rock some jets on the Caspian map. Metro is visually good, game play is good for a beta. But too close quarters for me as well.

I can’t even get on the xbox servers.

Xbox is down.

I got in a couple rounds this morning, overall, I like it.

Complaints:

  1. Prone, fuck prone
  2. crosshair tilt while panning, it’s kind of unnatural
  3. No vehicles in the xbox beta map

Prone is great I’m glad the brought it back, no vehicles in any of the maps.

Is it obvious that I’ve only played the BC games?

In the BC2 beta, they used port valdez, there were tons of vehicles on that map, why the change?

No idea…I’m just not real impressed with the game so far. I’ll save the final judgement for the actual game.

and xbox is down again.

New PC on the way, should arrive in time for this release

For all the COD n00bs:

Is it me, or is almost nothing on the beta map destructible? And there are separate weapons and unlocks for attacking and defending?

You’re on console right?

Yup

ProgRocker87 on PC btw…add me

once you get past the first 2 points and move underground to the train station, almost every wall is destructible.

I cant wait for this to come out, im not going to bother downloading the beta it will take too long on my connection but it looks great. Its been a long time since i have played a BF game

So I was going to install this on my desktop just to see what it’s like on PC, I just meet the min requirements(amd 4600+ x2, 9800gt, 2 gigs ram). I download it and try to install it, vista or newer only, I have xp on this machine. Now I can’t even find the serial key for my copy of 7 pro that I got from the student discount program, and none of the key finding programs are working on my laptop.
:fu:

I’ve watched a few reviews of guys who have played console verses PC at this point and they’ve all said it’s a bit better on PC. Namely being able to see much more detail, lighting, frame rate, etc. (console only has DirectX 9 level graphics) as well as obviously 64 players on PC making some of the large maps more fun (carnage.)

This is a great shot showing the visual differences:

<- PC | PS3 ->

… which honestly you have to really look close to see.

I’m also impressed by reviews saying it runs high quality on non-super-highend machines. It seems a quad core processor really makes a difference.

And this is a funny PC verses PS3 comparison:

PC > Console. I’ll leave it at that.

Anyone planning on hosting a server or team speak for this?

How much is server hosting for a game like this anyway?
