So I played with some guy who had 2,700+ MAV kills… and the dog tag to prove it, lol. I decided to try out the EOD bot on the train map and managed to sneak behind enemy lines for a good amount of kills :tup:

I just got the EOD for the engineer class (I don’t get a chance to play as often as I’d like). I have to try this out. What map did you use it on?
Demevand Peak (I think that’s the name) It’s the one with 5 flags and the Train Tunnel in the middle…then again Operation Metro has train tracks also.

Yeah I was talking about operation metro. Only a few enemies realized what I was doing and killed my EOD bot before I got behind enemy lines… most of the time I just drove though the line of fire, right up to a bunch of guys standing around and started to burn them, lol. I think I managed 5 kills once before the bot was destroyed.

Today’s PC client patch features numerous tweaks to Squad functionality and is part of our ongoing efforts to make it easier to play with friends and Platoon mates. These changes will also be implemented for consoles when we release the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 updates shortly. Stay tuned for the exact date of the console updates.
First, we need to look at how joining with Squads and Platoons affects the balance of teams. Initially, servers are commanded to equal out each side, so joining with friends can impact that balance while joining with Platoons further hinders this. As a result we have made some adjustments to the in-game Squad management screen.
For PC, you are now able to highlight the various Squads and select which one you wish to join by selecting a Squad and then clicking the Join Squad button. Please note that the Squad Privacy option still allows 2 man Squads which, during 64 player sessions, can lead to players with no squad position –- the number of people with no Squads will be shown at the bottom of the Squad selection list.
After the patch is applied to consoles (in the near future) you will be able to join Squads by cycling through the list and selecting which Squad you wish to join.
This is going to sound really dumb but is a firearm standard on the EOD or does it need to be upgraded somehow?
I was playing around with it for the first time last night and couldn’t get it to do anything other than use it’s torch. Also would like to note that it’s super super sensitive to drive compared to anything else in the game.
The only things it can do is Repair vehicles, damage or disable enemy vehicles, and kill enemies via burning them. You need to be fairly close and aiming for the head increases damage (also gives a headshot). Personally I think getting killed by the EOD bot is the most demeaning kill in the game. This little Wall-E like creature is treading around burning people to death…I got like 5 kills last night on Demevand Peak. Flew over the mountain ridge, setup the bot and drove it in behind the enemy. I drove it into the tunnels as the enemies were shooting the opposite way and burnt a few guys…
Has anyone flown the MAV with a joystick?
MAV with joystick, lol. I bet that guy with 2,700 kills plays with a joystick!
2700 is nuts, I don’t think I have 2700 total yet. I’ve got like 10 MAV kills, and that took a while, I keep bouncing it off the ground right in front of the enemy and losing speed.
Gotcha. I wish there was an easy way to record things in this game, I’ve had a lot of funny stuff happen with knife kills etc.
I think this game still have battle recorder right? I know some servers must be recording somehow.

FRAPS is still avaialble…I found out how to screenshot, but it’s not that great.
You have to go to the console by hitting the ~ key, type screenshot.render, hit enter. It Saves a screenshot to %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Battlefield 3\Screenshots …similar to BF2

That headshot is rigged, he sat there for a long time shooting at an AFK enemy. Look at his magazine count before and after.

I had some hacker last night shoot me out of a jet going full throttle and then right after in a chopper descending on him with a M27 IAR. One shot, headshot both times…B fucking S.

Anyone who hovers in the F35 is dumb, easy kill with a tank/RPG/Stinger/etc. I love DPVs! Can’t wait to play this.
