I need a new card. I’m stuck playing on mostly med with DX10. I’m impressed with how well the GTS250 does regardless but I know it can look loads better.
I bought a GTX550 for $100 with rebate. It’s not the best but It’ll get zee jobber done.
This game freezes on me every god damn time I play it.
But fuck if I don’t love it. MW3 is collecting dust.

specs rarely matter with this game as far as playability is concerned. We built my buddies rig a cpl months ago…

He is constantly having freezing issues as well as logoffs and instabilities.

Disagree, while I can’t explain your friends issues I do think they matter sometimes. Figured out mine was having crashing issues because I don’t have enough memory. I ultimately want to build a new PC but buying more ram is a decent band-aid for the moment.
^ and RAM is dirt cheap right now.
I had to actually declock my card and turn off aa and some other fancy features to get it to stop crashing. Le sigh

I’m going from 4GB to 8GB. Should help out a bunch. This computer build is 3 years old now, thinking this one will get delegated to media pc duty and I’ll build a new one next year.
that’s what I did earlier this year. 12gb seems to do well enough. I play the game on ultra settings on my 42" vsync capped at 60fps.

Yeah I mean I’m running a AMD 9950BE with an ATI 4870 and it’s starting to show its age. Runs the game on a mix of mostly high, medium and some low.
42" is a big ass screen. I’m running a 28" monitor and I thought that was big.
I believe my weakest point is my $400 video card… my plan when I bought it was to SLI the SLI card… but resale on them is still silly, I’d be better off selling for $3-400 and buying the best card out and have DX11 support.

Pushing Custom - Med/High settings @ 1900x1200 on a 28" monitor through HDMI, no vsync and no AA. It plays really good when it plays, but then it shits the bed.
Granted, if I didn’t hate console gaming, I could buy it for the PS3 and have absolutely no problems playing on my 82" tv with amazing sound… but fuck that. lol.
I’m also laying in bed across the room. I’m going to set a desk up again when I move back hoe and get a 30" monitor, but I’m on my TV right now.
