Land 5-10 decent headshots and you’re up there too, but that’s a bit more difficult, and less helpful to your team than spamming out meds/ammo.
I like, in order, engineer, recon, medic, support.
Yeah I think my playing time is divided as follows.
60% Recon, 30% Engineer, 10% Support
I virtually never play Assault.
I just built a gaming pc for bf3… I have always been a console gamer so I bought a 360 controller to use with Windows. After a couple of missions and playing around with the mouse, I’m undecided which has a better feel. What do you guys end up using?
You will never aim as accurately, or quickly, with a controller comparatively to a mouse.
I would be using the mouse and keyboard unless you are flying a jet/helicopter which = joystick.
I never have used a joystick in either BF2 and BF3 for flying. I don’t even own one. I’m not great but I can keep up and destroy most jet/helicopter pilots. Yesterday I was piloting the chopper on Wake while playing with Onyx and MPD47, and I had that thing spinning, under the bridges, around trees, the whole 9 yards.
As a console game previous to getting BF2 I never though I could play with a mouse and keyboard EVER. When I first started I absolutely sucked with it. Now I can’t play without it. Even when typing my left hand is always on the W, A, and D keys.

Sniping takes practice, but with the M98 and QBU (sp?) I can annihilate most matches.
QBU and M93-EMR are THE worst sniper rifles in the game. Bullet drop is horrendous, power is very low.
QBU-88 is awesome with the suppressor. I use it in the smaller CQ maps. (4x scope, foregrip, suppressor)
M98 I have set up for range (12x scope, bi-pod, suppressor)
Finally got my star tonight with that damn M39. Finally done starring the sniper rifles. That’s 53/75 weapons with a star. Trying real hard not to use weapons after I hit 100 kills until I have all the weapons starred up. But it’s a pain running around all map with pistols lol.
