Comet Landing - 10 Years In The Making

About an hour from now we’re (Humans) landing a spacecraft on a comet for the first time ever. I won’t give all the details, you have an hour to catch up on them

Obviously if it was manned. Just wanted to clear up

We have so much debt and we want to do this why?

a) This was Europe not the US.

b) This is the only stuff that really matters. We spend billions on short sighted objectives that really only push humanity slightly forward. It’s the grand ideas and exploration that will in time reap the largest rewards.

IMO of course

a) ah ok

b) Id much rather see them start building colonies on the moon or mars then a rotating object. But being able to land on it at 40,000mph is pretty impressive

You want to live on the moon? I think that looks like an awful place to live. And Mars? LOL @ thinking that’s habitable for humans.

Never said I want to live there.

You know they have computers to do math now right…

They can make mars work

Europeans land on a comet and suddenly everyone is a rocket scientist…

Also: Humans land on a comet for the first time ever, FB post of Kim Kardashian’s ass overshadow it, literally.

What? Since when?

Jesus christ, you are nauseatingly lame.

We have several steps to take first, this being one of them. We’ll get their eventually.

Comets are important to learn from for numerous reasons that I won’t list here since it’s all over the news today. These are the objects that “seed” the universe in a way.

Cool shots below. It was supposed to take a panorama shot when it landed, but I’m not sure if they’ve done that yet since the anchors haven’t fired.

@newman

Yea its cool but how much did it cost. IMO that money could have been spent in better places.

Launched this back when we were looking for Osama…just in case he was hiding there.

HA^
