Check the task scheduler in windows to see if there are any tasks set to run at that time. There is an advanced setting to wake the computer to run a task. I’m guessing some A/V update or scan is scheduled with this parameter set.
It did it again last night. I checked everything in the task scheduler and nothing is set to go start anywhere near 1am, and again when I checked the event viewer the wake source is unknown.
Is the laptop plugged into your network or connected wirelessly? Vista didn’t support wireless wake on lan so if it’s a wake on lan thing it would have to be coming from a wired network connection. If it’s wired lan try leaving it unplugged from the lan tonight.
If it’s a bios auto-power up it would be under power management.
Moving the webcam to watch the driveway soon. lightbulbs have been safe but random things laying around the house have magically thrown themselves out.
I had the same problem. It turned on every night at the same time. It was a setting in my bios. I believe it was under “power management” and auto power on was enabled.
Ok I have been trying to get through to the power management in the BIOS but I can’t find it anywhere. Is there a specific way I have to access it? I have Insyde h2o rev. 3.5 as my BIOS.

The options I have at the top of the screen are: Main, Security, Diagnostics, System Configuration and Exit. From what I read online there should be an advanced option somewhere.
