Concrete Bar tops.... with a dash of awesome.

figured I’d share…I’m pretty happy with how this project turned out. Yep, it’s CONCRETE!
I fabricated all the pieces off site in my studio and the bar is a single piece that was transported to site complete.

Bar top, Shelving, and bottle podiums are all made from concrete. I made the bar with an integrated ice trough with ambient lighting that pours into an integrated bar sink. The ice trough can be partitioned with glass to separate drinks/ice. When not in use, a matching cover plate makes the best use of the bar surface. There are some pretty nice details, including the undercut beveled edge along the seating side. Flush mounted LED lighting is all remote controlled…you can even change the warmth of the white light. Enjoy.

Wow very cool! How heavy and how scratch resistant? And how much?!

The large bar top weighed in at about 580#. They are very stain and scratch resistant. I process the concrete to densify the surface. My cost was about $2800 including materials and overhead. The fabrication process took about 12 days.

this house is awesome

That’s not bad, I expected quite a bit more price wise.

So talented. Too bad you had to be all LeBron and take your talents to South Beach…sadface

His cost was $2800. Don’t confuse cost and price.

Nice work!

That’s my cost …selling price was just shy of $20K

Haha…I’ll be moving again soon…and this house is about a mile from LeBron’s.

Correct…and thanks!

Have you done any tops not concrete colored? I have seen floors done with a very deep clear that would look a lot better than granite/granite/marble/Quartz if done on a countertop
awesome bar.

To be honest I thought he mixed up the wording and I just ASSumed. Shame on me.

damn that looks good…

That’s an awesome idea for the ice, easy cleanup too!

That’s beautiful Josh, great work.

That’s gorgeous. Sounds like a pretty good business you’re in too based on the $2800 cost and $20k billed. Always a great business plan to do something unique and do it really well.

Is that ice trough cover made of concrete too? Being that thin, narrow and long it seems like it would be pretty fragile?

~86% profit margins tighten my pants even more so than that incredible work.

Thanks Guys…

I can do virtually any color and can color match…though my most common color request is a gray of some sort. I actually start with a white cement based mix and had to add pigment to get the color you see in these tops.

The ice trough cover is 1/2" thick concrete…plenty strong enough…watch this video:

In the Spring you can watch a similar drop test on the DIY network, except with a 20ft long bar top.

I can charge prices down here in SoFlo that I wouldn’t be able to get away with WNY. My material cost is about $6.50/sq-ft and my pricing STARTS at $100/sq-ft.

Totally makes sense. You’d do well here in SoCal.

Keep these threads coming!

cool ice idea I assume when you’re done entertaining it drains/you just push it all to the sink. Clever. Nice work - I’ll give it an 8/10 because no Carbon Fiber found. :stuck_out_tongue:

as the ice melts…it drains into the sink. The glass partitions don’t provide a seal. When they’re done…just pull the glass partitions out and let the ice drain then place the cover back.

i’ll find a use for CF at some point.
