I understand we can’t throw them back into the world without expecting them to repeat the same crimes. However, my concern is for the patients of the hospital that are legitimately there because they are also a harm to themselves and others. I can’t imagine they want to be lumped with sex offenders and substance abuse patients. This makes treatment of their ailments even more difficult.
Why not tougher penalties? Keep them in jail.
