i think mine is like 2.5 or so
quad fours are nice performing motors, but when the water pump goes bad its a bitch!!!, i’ll ask around for the coolent question for you

8 gallons eh? nah we just drained it and filled it with 1 gallon of each, seemed to work. Oh well, not my car.
just feel it let the theromastat open fill it again and cap it

I dont really know since i dont have the quad 4 (when you say quad 4 i assume your talking about the 2.3 and not 2.4) But according to the hayness manual it says to
"on models with a coolant reservoir, fill the radiato to the base of the filler neck and then add more coolant to the reservoir until it reasches the Full Cold mark. On models with a surge tank, slowly fill the surge tank until the level is up to the Full Cold mark.
Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached and, with the engine idling, add coolant to the Full Hot level . Install the pressure cap and, on models so equipped, the reservoir cap."
if the quad 4 was so great, it wouldnt need coolant.
