Corvette Fuel System Q's

Ok the fuel system in my 1997 vette has the pump in take with an output line and a return line running all the way to the fuel rail.

The new engine is LS3 based which only has the output line going into the fuel rail.

Can anyone suggest a drop in pump? Inline pump? MSD boost a pump? What works best to increase pressure and reliability?

Also, I am going to need some sort of three way adjustable fuel pressure regulator. It will need a line in (from pump), return out (back to tank), and line out (to fuel rail). A provision for a pressure gauge would be really nice too. Anyone know of something like this? Seems most I find are just 2 way.

I don’t need any vacuum or boost controlling… Ideas?

No one has any ideas? What do you all big HP guys due for fuel?

Right now I have a factory C5 fuel system and the MSD Boast a pump kit. Do you think upping the voltage on the stock pump will be enough or should I also look into an inline pump or try some dual in take pump set up?

Slam a walboro in and get aftermaket rails and keep the return system. walboro will handle an ls3 no problem.

this types really shitty i have no space, shift, caplock

what is big power -qestion mark-
how hard is it to change over to a 98 -plus- stock rails, and lines to use it -question mark-
i have made 550 na whp on 98up stock line and rail with one or two- qestion mark- walbro that cost like 40bucks fyi
stry has made 1033whp and got a billet stock type sender with intank stock like pumps. and bigger line. but no fancy booster inline pumps relays-hobbs switchs pain in the ass. just key on stock type fuel system, i know i really like using stock parts. the cars i have worked on with aftermarket rails, adjustab;e regulators, inline pumps i always have to fuck with them. guys get them for being -easy- at first and they suck.

pat is it that easy, is it just the 97 rails that suck or the way the filter- full return line is in the 97 that makes them not support as much as a 98plus i sold a lot of stock rails to guys with 97s always changing over i know

I Don’t have a problem tossing a new Walboro in. How do I keep the return system system with an LS3 intake? I actually have three fuel rails, my 1997 return style, a 2000 returnless style and a LS3 returnless style.

My LS3 is a forged stroked 418 that will have direct port N20 with meth…maybe a ~350 shot. Think the Walboro and the boast a pump will be fine?

How do I switch over to returnless? Do I need an external fuel pressure regulator or do I need to swap over all the fuel lines? That seems to be a pain in the ass.

How can I run two Walbro’s?

I’m thinking something like this might be the best thing for me. I’d still need a fuel pressure regulator though.

C5 vette FPR/filter combo. It’s a return-style FPR set for around 58psi. Hugely popular for LS1 swaps. Should work great for your returnless rails.

These are the part numbers to look for:
Napa Fil3737
AC/Delco GF822
WIX number 33737

Awesome I can get these and run the factory LS3 fuel rail with the walbro and boast a pump kit.

WIX filter #33737 ($35)
3/8 russell quick connect # 640850 ($15.95)
5/16 russell quick connect # 640860 ($14.95)
Russell 3/8 Male quick connect to -6AN 640940 ($11.95)

That will work great. I sure as hell hope you plan on running a dedicated fuel cell for that much nitrous. Because pulling that much off the rails is not gonna pan out at all.

I was just about to say what Pat did. Keep a single 255 for NA and get a dedicated setup for the N2O. Are you keeping your car 6-sp?

Yes it is staying 6 speed, and I will have a dedicated fuel system for the N20. I was thinking about running N20 and Meth rather then N20 and race fuel what are the thoughts on that?

Something like this is going in the battery sport up front.
