I’m still sticking with the theory passed along to me, the longer these people who first received the vaccine continue to remain COVID free, the longer they’ll extend the effectiveness of the vaccine itself. Is a booster likely? Sure, but if it becomes like the flu shot I’ll take a hard pass. Once every ten years like a tetanus or whatever, I’m game.
I’m stuck here in Fayetteville NC
(FayetteNam)
4 of my guys got the Johnson shot yesterday.
(I’ll wait for the responses to that one)
I was slightly pissed as I can’t start this plant without them. Only one guy felt sick so far. Chills and sweats etc.
Did I mention that they are all from out of state and it was a walk up the took less than 30 minutes?
Please tell me there are Johnson injection memes out there.
I still have no interest in one. Tell me which one is most effective and I will make the best choice for my body once I am financially forced to get one.
do you get any confirmation of vaccination?
like if they role out those passports how do you prove you got it?
And what is the cost?
It costs nothing. You get a card showing you’ve been vaccinated. Going with my wife for our 2nd Pfizer shots today at noon.
I think how bad it’s going up in Canada right now with the variants should be a wake up call about vaccines. Every expert I’ve read says the only difference between the US handling the variants and Canada failing is vaccination rates. The US has vax’d about twice as many as Canada.
As much as I’m still against forced vaccinations, and even though I’m still worried about long term health effects of my vaccination, seeing local hospitals load up floors with 29-39 year olds with the new variants is a bit concerning and I’m happy I’m somewhat out of the danger zone
So… got to love NYS and the constant back and forth bullshit going on with the courts. 1 minutes you can operate after 11pm, the next minute you can’t. How can businesses that are looking to hire employees/bring employees back on that typically work past 11pm actually go about doing this? It’s to up and down of a situation to bring people back and stay open.
Also love the fact that NYS right now is at the top of the list for most small business closures right now at about 31%. I think we are tied or close to PA.
Meme in the Biden thread just gave me a thought. Other than potentially still skewed statistics, have we thought about the case rate drops in states that have been open or continuing to open/lessen restrictions being due to herd immunity as constant exposure could act as a vaccine would in a sense. (I’m certainly no scientist).
On top of the 31% of small businesses closing and who could have used a handout to keep them in business… Now NYS is looking into giving covid relief money up to about $15,000 to undocumented immigrants. That makes my blood boil. You can’t give $15k to small businesses to try and keep them open, but you can give our tax money to people who came to this country illegally and are not paying into the system. F**K that!
My SIL is a nurse at Mercy, she’s seen such an increase in covid cases/hospitalization that they opened another floor this week. I think it’s really down to variants at this point. Where are the variants prominent? That’s where covid is serious. States that are open don’t seem to currently have the variants, which is awesome but also shows the complexity of virus transmission.
Honestly, at this point just open up the country and let it run its course, just be prepared. The alternative is we keep half-assing our attempts at preventing a virus from spreading and mutating for years.
with respect to the states that do not have lockdowns showing decreases in cases i would say the same as i said above; moving on is the cure.
focring people into the tyranny that we are living through in Ontario right now is guaranteed to make people ill; physically, mentally and every other way that one can be ill. But of course, this is the plan. It is being done like this on purpose ot maximize the suffering.
Going for my second shot of Pfizer tomorrow. Came across this this morning. Only about 6 out of 7 million people, but that seems about in line with Covid19 deaths, so we must do something about it.
Honest though, I don’t trust anything Johnson & Johnson. They have so much revolving around them questionable or even lawsuits that I don’t want shit from them. It’s actually amazing to me how much a company can mess up and still be producing things for peoples health.
my understanding is the J&J shot is the only one widely available in WNY right now.
Maybe @Onyx_Z32 can elaborate as this was from him.
UB and Delavan both show appointments available and both are doing Pfizer. Earliest slot is 4/15 at Delavan. I know if you keep closing and going back it updates all the time.
I went to Delavan for my 2nd shot Friday. No side effects other than a little soreness at the injection site. Same for my wife.
Appt availability seem to change at a moments notice.
Here in Rochester (Pfizer at Dome arena) I checked on the availability on 31 March and there was none. Checked again on 2 April and there was 1000+ appts available for the following week.
Had my first on 7 April.
A few of my friends cancelled appts they had for end of April and went last week as well.

The NY site is constantly updating. You can close the tab and click schedule appointment over and over and see different dates/times every 20 seconds. I spoke with someone about it and they said they get a ton of cancelations and those are updated in real time.
I was told local locations were moving away from the 2 shot to the 1 shot J&J shot. And that if you call pharmacies at the end of the day, if they have unused shots they’ll give them out same-day otherwise they have to be trashed.
Also, a Canadian I know who’s currently in Buffalo is scheduled for a shot locally.
Friggin’ healthcare tourists
And now J&J is on pause?
Seen on FB “WNY car scene should know not to trust anything from J&J”
