Cross-Country Road Trip On A Motorcycle

yeah man wtf.

get your bike back together and lets round up some jerks to do a weekend blast to Joshua tree or something

my friend down in ohio bought this tent to ride up to buffalo and back a few summers back to visit for a week. He was really pleased with it.

I’ve always wanted to make a trip like this.
I’d want a more comfortable bike than my SV tho.

@Minglor buy something here then just sell it there. That seems like the best option for me at this time, then upgrade DD’s when I get back.

I think you’d look weird with double D’s man…and aren’t the plastic surgeons out west way better? makes more sense to have them done while you’re out there rather than when you get back :gotme:

my cousins drove from WNY to CA last summer, about a 1 week trip.

From what I gather they went Rochester > Cleveland > Chicago > St Louis > past a whole bunch of corn > somewhere in the rockies in Colorado > some caves > grand canyon > LA.

I would do a bit different route than they took but they had some awesome photos of the trip.

Post the pics up! Looks like I can do it comfortably in two and a half weeks.

My advice is to avoid Kansas because the cops are the worst, and to drive through Yellowstone if you can make it work for your route. If you’re looking for a tent, look into the backpacking/ultralight tents. I’ve been getting ready for some backcountry camping/fishing here in Colorado and there are a bunch that use really short tent poles and pack down super small.

honestly having done this a few times I would say shoot south through Pittsburgh/Colombus/Cincinnati/Louisville/Nashville/Memphis then just pick up the 40 and head west

you can even detour in AZ to hit the Grand Canyon then up to Zion and over to Vegas then back down into SoCal

this would be my route

Chooch I did a big US circle earlier this year. And am looking to do it again on a motorbike. Let’s discuss.

Let’s get weird.

You’re all talk, don’t tease me(us).

I’d have to plan it far out but I could make it happen. Already picked my vacation for this coming year.

Well, Haenszel is in 100%…

It’ll more than likely be in August if you’re interested…

I bought an 07 Sporty 1200 in SC, flew down and rode it back. Was glad I had forward controls and a reliable, fuel injected bike. Stopped for a day in Pittsburgh.

One of the best experiences of my life. Flying through the Blue Ridge Mountains, pitch black, nothing but a helmet keeping me from the elements, not a soul in sight.

I strongly recommend you do this trip

make it out west quick and perhaps I can meet up for a leg of this trip

My Dad actually went on a 28 day trip out west about 5 yrs ago on his road king. Had an absolute blast and loved every minute of it and took hundreds if not a 1000 pics. Bought a new street glide in fall of 13 and was taking another trip out west this past summer. God had other plans but he did make it out there again this past summer but sadly it was in a small box and now he is out there permanently. At least his last ride was triple digits on the back of a corvette!
I would highly advise you to do it. It is sooooooo bueatiful out there.

I’d rather do it on a bicycle, but I’m crazy.

you should check out @Haenszel’s friend Wilson

he is basically a bicycle nomad

Wilson is the man. @XwalkerX I’ll be out there in March, we are going on a mini trip, ha.

@misteroman sorry to hear, at least he’s where he would want to be though.
