Cool shit. I want to do the cross country trip again now!

I was getting just under 50 when we started. Since we hit the mountains, it was more around 40. Hopefully, now that we’re on the coast it gets better.
We spent yesterday in downtown Seattle, which I really wasn’t much of a fan of. It was pretty dirty, and we definitely parked in a less than nice area. It was raining hard when we got there, so we decided to walk instead of bike, get into some buildings and check things out. We hit Pike Place Market, the gum wall, Skyneedle, and just roamed. After, we went to Capital Hill, which is an Elmwood/Allen like area. It was actually pretty cool, definitely a cool part of Seattle. We hung out there for a while, it was cool to see all of the different places with specific themes and all of the money they invested in decorations for the themes. I didn’t have my camera for the Capital hill portion, because I was under the impression that it would be as uninteresting as the downtown area, but I was wrong. Headed off to Portland today… Main priority: Voodoo Donuts.
blow in / blow out?
I lived in Cap Hill for a few years. Best area to live in Seattle by far!
Seattle is deff an in the know city. Took me awhile to figure the place out. Did you pick “the Stranger” its like their Artvoice.
Glad you caught that. “Blow in for a blow out” at a hair salon. haha
No, I didn’t =( But, Capital Hill is legit. Also, Portland is super legit. Hipster capital of the world!
Yesterday, Bill gashed his head open on the car door. We went to urgent care to have it stitched, and in this random closed off parking lot a car was WOT pulling down the lane, a car pulled out, and it flipped the car on its side. So, we had to wait a while for all the doctors to run out and take care of the accident first.
After, we headed to Portland, OR to grab some Voodoo Donuts. SUPER legit place, and the city is hipster central. Super trendy. Went to check the oil, and the plastic tube that the dipstick goes into was broken off and I had a slight shower of oil, all over the engine bay. So, after spending half of the day locating the part, I fixed it and we only spent a short amount of time in Portland before we headed off to Redwood National Park in CA. I havent been taking that many pictures the last few days, so I’ll combine them on my next update.
Portland was always a good time.
Redwood National Park is dope as hell. Enjoy!
good stuff
So… Bump?
Did the VW blow up ending your trip?
uh oh!
He’s back. I’m sure he’ll fill in things soon.
:tspry:
I still haven’t uploaded the rest of my pics since I got back. We stayed in Vegas for a week. Saw the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, and then headed straight back to Buffalo because my clutch master cylinder started going.
I’ll post pics eventually.
At the end of it, 10k miles were put on the VW, 50 MPG was the average, even with the bikes on the back, and I spent more than I’d like to discuss. But, it was a great time.
10k miles, holy shit. How long of a trip was this?
