Up until this day,I’ve never known or heard of anyone having a CRT TV fall on them.
I knew of one…I won’t mention names though 
just spent the extra $60-$100 on a wallmount. those stands are sketch
lol id like to see a wall mount crt.
Happened to me when I was 3 or 4. I was getting up from putting a tape in the VCR and used the open cabinet doors to pull myself up on, the cabinet that the tv was on, and it came at me. Lucky the TV did a perfect front flip and the top landed squarly on top of my head and then bounced off. I only ended up with a bump on my head. That TV actually still worked 10 years later when we gave it to my uncle lol
We used to have to secure teh CRT tv’s to teh walls at circuit city because one fell and killed a kid a couple years ago…
He grabed the top of one on an endcap and a 400lb sony XBR tube fell fwd and crushed him…
Kind of sad…
Nobody ever used the straps though, they were a PITA
