About to toss a D16y7 in my CRX(old motor lost #3 cylinder compression), will the DX mani fit the Y7 head? What gasket to use Y7 or the 91 DX D15B2 gasket? Everything else should bolt up correctly? I swapped a Y7 last year into my other CRX but it was a si and worked fine. The part numbers are different and they look a little different but will it work?
you would think so but if you look at the gaskets they are a little different.
when this works out will there be a price on this crx? also is that a 1.6vtec from92up or is that an older carbed motor.
Its already sold pretty much, I just need to slap a motor in there. I might just slap the D15B head on the Y7 bottom end instead.
What 1.6 vtec are you speaking of?
the only difference should the coolant passage shape.
as a side note, the y7 is the same head casting as the z6 but without the vtak attack. use one of those manifolds.
↑ I need to keep the DX mani, im not switching to MPFI. I thought it was only the coolant passage that was different. So it wont work then?
how different are to 2 passages? post a pic of the 2 gaskets.
i have never heard any issues going from an older to newer style manifold, so i can’t see the reverse being any different.
