if i had to decide between eating LESS or eating more but fast/junk food id choose the fast food/junk food all day long as far as gaining weight and or muscle is concerned… Your body can still break down the shit food and turn it into muscle building fuel… added bodyfat will occur but thats easy to control is you have a steady workout routine… I dirty bulk almost every winter and still have a well defined mid section. It’s way better then eating less but healthy as your body will start to eat away at the muscle you DO have since its not getting a steady amount of food to use.
