CSCS Grand Bend Beach Burnout *Gymkhana* '06

Ok guys, here’s the skinny…

Looks like I’m running the Gymkhana this year, and needless to say it looks like a nice, warm, sunny weekend.

Again the beach is minutes away so feel free to enjoy a little water and a little sun… the sand is awesome there.

Anyways,

This year will be similar to last year with a few changes…

  1. The course may or may not be the same as last year. If it is the same, then it’ll be expanded, in order for some of the larger vehicles and the newer guys to go through the course a little easier.

  2. Instead of using the solo timing equipment, we’re using a stop watch as it’s adequate for these events.

  3. The crowd will be roped off and positioning of the cars will be slightly different then last year, as there were some tight points in regards to space.

  4. There is some speculation that we may set up a cone or 2 so that while you are not doing the course you can do some donuts or just get into a rythm wihtout having to be on the course.

  5. There will be a couple special intermissions for some gymkhana go-kart racing. If anything it gives you time to eat, drink, and let your cars cool down.

  6. I’m going to try to obtain flags to give other marshalls helping. All you’ll need to know are 2 colours, Green = Go, and Black = There are parts flying off your car, oil going everywhere, fluids spilling on the track, or one of your rods just hit a spectator… so stop.

Entry is now $50 for a full day of gymkhana plus you get admission.

I’ll post last years course just to give you an idea, but i think i may modify it for some longer, simpler sweep types, to give you a chance to link…

Not a drift guy? There is plenty of other stuff to do at this event like the show and shine, or the drag event. For more information on that, see Jover’s thread: http://www.son240sx.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25431&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Here’s last years layout, I’m going to open it up a bit, and see if we can get some good linking.

I encourage anyone who wants to come out and have a good time to make their way to GB for another momorable summer weekend.

last year the manji section was pulled out by pavel.
section right before finish.

I’d pull out one of the donuts in the first half of the course.

Andrew.

I’m going to leave the two center donuts, because thats a technical section, the mangi area will be replaced, and the 60 footer instead of going outside inside and around, i’ll set it up so you can go in crossed up all the way for the full 60 if you can hold it, and wrap around the cone…

This should actually be a little safer, fluid, and enteraining then last year…

Yeah I’m probably going to change the whole layout… sigh

:stuck_out_tongue: sounds cool. Maybe I should have gone this year. Da well.
