CTS-v2 vs. M5

I am really liking the Cadillac line up.

I like how you skewed the stats to the favor of the CTS you pathetic fanboi. The M5 tops out at 204mph and gets a rated 16-23mpg. Having been in both gasp. I can say that I like the CTS a lot, and hate the transmission in the M5, so I can honestly say the winner of this arguement is the e39 m5 and first gen CTSV.

LOL that totally blind-sided me.

Anyway I love both cars, but I can’t help but love the CTS-V’s interior.

I did not skew anything

17 hwy is on the front page

The rest was from these sites

The first gen V is nice but the Diff problem is annoying at best

I grew up as a BMW fan boi, but I am stuck in a city that will key your foreign car because they have an inferiority complex.
I like competition and I also like value.
Hell if the V lost by a second I would still be happy.

wow thanks bigron. fully loaded CTS-V interior pic versus bone-stock-out-the-door-for-as-cheap-as-possible M5. Good work.

I’ve been in both cars. An upholstery shop I had my window replaced at had an M5 there. The interior is much more pleasing (simplicity and cleanliness speaks folks) and the amount of sound deadening material that goes into the car is ridiculous. You could hear a pin drop inside of the car at full throttle.

And I’ve worked with a couple of douche bags that have CTS. The interior sucks. It looks cheap. nuff said.

where does it say it is a fully loaded CTS? and I didn’t know you could have a non-boring as shit interior as an option on the m5, thats great thinking.

lol who in their right mind (as a car enthusiast at least) wants to hear a pin drop under full throttle? I, personally, want to hear that engine screaming under the hood (and/or blower lol)

Was there any added value to this topic to name call your co-workers or are you trying to imply that all CTS drivers are “douche bags”?
I also updated the picture of the interior of the M5. Hopefully it is loaded enough for you.
The last CTS-V had one option and it was a sunroof so to me a fully load V is a stock V.

As for the new one there are more options. The one in the picture had the CTS-V Performance Collection (RJE) which I would think most V will be ordered with. Options are listed below.

  • Sueded Steering Wheel and Shift Knob
  • Audio system with Navigation
  • Recaro Heated/Ventilated Performance Seats
  • 19x9" front, 19x9.5" rear Polished Aluminum Wheels

Don’t see why they waste all that money on sound deadening…I believe the demographic for Caddys is older people who can’t hear that well anyways…

^ lol

it’s retarded how much R&D goes into that kind of shit too

You guys are car enthusiasts. Not all M5 owners are. I see a lot of people who are either older or just stupid rich driving M5s. IMO the M5 isn’t about the car enthusiast. It’s about a 500+hp luxury sedan.

Why would you want 500HP if you weren’t concerned with performance? :deadhorse2: Drive a regular 550 or 760

It sure does, until you have to use it. I drive is just idiotic. Id rather have to locate one of 24 buttons.

If you are talking a pre '08 I’d agree. The interior in the 08+ are head and shoulders > the old CTS interior and just as nice in my opinion as the BMWs.

Because when you’re making mid to high six figures you buy whatever puts a smile on your face and makes you feel warm and happy inside, for the moment.

And the CTS I was in might have been an 07, I’m not entirely sure.

It was a 2008 for sure.

the newer cts interior is a massive improvement, but it’s still just shit all over the place.

climate controls on my knee? no thanks.

i like the old CTS better. simple. clean.

Ive never liked a BMW interior except my buddies E12.
