Custom 6.5 brackets for front speakers?

Hey… I want to stick 6.5s in my doors…but I’m not the type who’s good at making custom shit…I wouldn’t be able to make it myself. Is there anywhere wehre I can just buy it? I wouldn’t imagine it being more than 10 bucks or whtever since it’s just a piece of plastic if someone mass produced them.

Thanks…

Hey dude, your best bet is to buy a piece of 1/2" MDF, use the stock speaker mount to make a pattern and jigsaw it out. Mount it in place with wood screws. Cheap and painless.

i think Gonad has a write up on his lil site

Indeed he does:

He used plexi I believe. I copied his style of doing it but I used wood. Mine turned out like this:

That’s a good looking setup, however I’ll recommend two things. MDF is the best material to use, and mount the wood to the inside of the door. Your speaker will have more clearance for suspension travel.

Those are great, but I don’t think I can do it myself, like I simply don’t have access to any tools that would cut a nice hole like that in the wood…

You guys didn’t make any extras you want to sell me or anything did you? heh…
