From what I’ve seen, the stock size is 4x6… anybody ever try to fit some 5x7’s in there?
I have a set of 5x7 Type S speakers looking for a new home… was hoping to find a how-to on this setup, but haven’t managed to find one yet :oops:
any help on this setup?

You can make what ever you want fit anywhere in any car.
Yes 5x7’s will fit in the door, so will 6x9’s with some cusom work heck you can fit a 10" sub in there if you want.
Search before you ask another silly question like this again.

the 240 is my winter beater (and next summer’s drift toy)… i don’t want to make it into an SQ or SPL car.

Agreed, but I think meant the internet as a whole.
In any case… I fit 6.5" in my doors. If you ask me, the easiest way to fit a custom size is to pull out the stock crap and mount a piece of MDF in the hole left behind. Mount your speaker to that. Without custom work, you will only be able to fit 4x6s.
whats wrong with 4 x 6s anyway…nobody seems to like them.
If you just buy good quality components then it should sound mint with the stock size.

i remember seeing someone that had templates he made for plexiglass mounts for 6.5in round speakers for the door, you should be able to find it through google…
