There should be enough room between the sheet metal and the fuel pump lines for air nibblers to clear, right? I’d rather not make sparks with a cut off wheel. And it’s an excuse to buy air nibblers. 
Projects always mean new equipment.

yeh but be carful i honestly did mine with tin snips but youll be good with air nibbler
look on ls1 tech there are some extact pictures to show where to cut
ie dropping the tank is really not that hard at all…if your exhust comes off easy
