Financial Aid and school loans! My rents never had money to pay for my school but I’m doing good on my own, a couple more thou ain’t nothin to The Man. My SATs were average at best but in my situation, transferring in, they don’t play such a huge role. I’m just sick of my shitty job, so not only do I get to further my education, I get to quit my shitty job lol. God I get :hitit: so much everyday my asshole bleads through my pants. Its really quite embarrassing,…I guarantee everyone a new, stress/hate free Be_Rad in 1 month. This is probably the greatest decision Ive made so far :blue: can’t wait
after you have been out of high school for a few years, the sat’s don’t mean shit anyway. All you have to do is take the college’s placement tests, which are simple.
my sat score in high school was in the low 700 range. I knew I wasn’t going to college but my mom made me take them, so I guessed every answer.
school does suck, but if you want to have any chance of making a boatload of money, it’s the only way to go. that’s why I am back in school at 28 years old.
wow
false
school doesn’t guarentee any chance of making a boat load of money.
Experience > school
I know a shit load of people that get out of school and are hard pressed for work because no one will hire them with out 2-3 years of experience.
The guy that works with me (just got hired recently) has a degree in bioengineering… despite the fact that he’s a complete retard, he only makes around $26K… :dunno: I make almost $22K, and can get overtime.
That depends on what you go to school for. A lot of people choose to take the easy way through college by choosing easy programs and classes feel slighted when they graduate because they can’t get a good job. That is because hundreds of other people took the same easy route. I chose a hard program and can land a great paying job any day of the week.
very true. Companies would not hire me because I had a degree. I went for labor type jobs and they told me that I was overqualified:rant:
go talk to whitey about the guy with a masters degree that is trying to get experience by doing shit for Pittspeed for free then re-enter this conversation.
The people I know are not smack offs that went to school for “easy stuff”.
Some of the people I know went to school for 5 and 6 years to get specialized and still can’t get jobs due to lack of experience in the field they are in. This is ranging from people who went for teaching to people I know who went for engineering.
your chances are much better if you have a degree than if you do not. everyone and their grandma knows someone who doesn’t have any schooling past the third grade and makes a billion dollars a year.
experience is good but 8/10 times the person with the degree will make more money. I got all my jobs through experience but now realize that to move up any farther, a degree is needed.
I’m not talking about the elemetry school drop outs who make billions.
Experience > then a $25k+ piece of paper that you have to pay back after you get out of school weather or not you got that “promised pay rate” they use to lore you in…
Whats even better than that is Experience and then being part of a company that if you do want to better yourself they PAY FOR YOUR SCHOOLING and with no contractural requirements…
My mom with a highschool ed. makes more than my dad with a BA…hes bitter, I laugh, just because you go to school doesnt promise you anything. It depends on if you want to and have reasons to and enjoy what ur going for then its worth it. Schooling will help you in the long run. I’m just going so you all can call me Dr. Be_Rad
:scared:
he speaks the truth… I have 5 resumes now, of college grads. 2 with masters. they want to work for pittspeed as an intern just to get experience on there resume. the one grad with masters overall GPA was 3.6 for undergrad and a 4.0 for masters.
experience is what got me my job, sure my education helped me get further in my job. but it all started from experience
If you can’t get a job with a masters degree, there is something seriously wrong… The biggest thing that people have to do when they are in school is NETWORK! A very high percentage of jobs are filled because someone had an in with someone else at that company.
Experience is great, Schooling is even better. But if you don’t know anyone or don’t have connections or inroads, the path to a great job is a HELL of a lot harder.
masters degres… hehehe  ok, that just proves that you are a sucker. masters are shit on by most ppl… like whitey said… experience or brilliance. paying for another piece of paper tells me you have neither.
BS. Tell that to both my millionaire aunts who make 6 figure salaries and they will poop on you…
But true they are a waste if ur a career student who has no social skills.
hahahahahahahaha - best joke on pittspeed :bigthumb:
you guys convinced me, schooling is most definately a waste, everyone should drop out right now and quit wasting your money.
Sound a little bitter, almost like you might not have the desire or ability to persue a masters degree?
And masters are shit on by most people? Maybe most people YOU know, but go out in the real world, especially the business world, and look at people who have a BA and those who have an MBA. World of difference.
experience is king. a jd without the bar is more valuable than any masters (in business), granted masters in the scientific fields are sure to hold more weight. who can’t get a masters… um, here’s my 3.0 undergrad and a cashiers check for grad school… okay you’re in.
here’s my point http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8357843/
