So I moved up to PA and had to come back down to MD for a few things. I forgot something up in PA so i drove back yesterday. On the way north on I-95, I started to hear a strange noise from the rear of the car. It kinda sounds like if you turn a fan on and blow into it. That is the noise coming from the rear of the car except a little higher pitch. So I made it to PA and back to MD last night and the noise never stopped. This morning I woke up and was driving to go get new tires for the car. I got into rush hour traffic. Everytime I came to 5 mph or less and then hit the gas, my car would tach up pretty high and the car just slightly move forward till about 10-15 mph then it was fine. The noise just started getting louder from the rear also. I am gonna get it looked at by my buddy Tyson. He has a buy-in on Moser and Strange so if it is the rear, I am gonna get it for his cost and basically no labor. I am thinking of just going with the 9 inch Moser. Still thinking about what gears to get. I might go with anything from 3.73’s, 4.10’s, or 4.11’s. He said 4.11’s would be too much for the track unless I went with a bigger size tire since I would hit overdrive but would be more fun on the street. Not sure at this time the gears but I think I will just stick with a 9 inch. That way I can launch at around 4k and not have to worry. Remember, my car is an A4 and my stall is made to launch at a high RPM. Well, sucks it might be going out on me but I guess it is good so I don’t have to worry about it breaking at the track, even though I had a points series tomorrow for a F-Body Shootout
That sux. But gives you the excuse to upgrade now though
Yeah I know, I just didn’t wanna spend my money on that. I was planning on racing tomorrow in a 3 event point series. Now I will only be able to race 2 of the 3 and basiaclly no chance at winning the series.
I wanted to use that money to pay off a credit card but now I am left with no choice…guess I will just go get a few 
and get over it
So how long has your 10 bolt lived? I just put a 3600 stall and 3.73’s in my stock rear and was wondering how many passes I’ll get out of it before I have to go to a 12 bolt. Im running Nitto DRs on 15" Convo Pros. Skinnies up front.
Are you launching off your stock rear in the pic in your sig?
I think 3.73s would be fine. Especially if you plan on driving on the street as well as the track. All the people I know with 4.10s or higher usually complain about shifting too much but I guess you won’t have that problem. 
I have 128,000 miles on the car with stock rear and over 400 passes. At least 100 are 12.4 passes or faster. I have launched up to 2800 rpm’s off the stock rear with stock 3.23’s. That is the stock rear in the pic since it is the only rear I have owned and it has never been touched even to fix anything. Never had a problem with it till now.

Oh, and my 60 ft’s have been at least 1.7’s for a total of around 200 passes and 1.6’s for around a total of 100 and 1.5’s about 15 times

Not bad. Guess it was about time you joined the “broken 10 bolt” club.
Well, good luck running yours. You need to get some Long Tubes on that thing and you will see some high 11’s. You might possibly see 11’s with your setup and you WILL see 1.6’s-1.7’s with that setup you have now as long as you have some rubber on them rims.
I am pending on what brand right now.

like I said, going over prices and what is best for me tonight. Next year I want heads/cam but still stay streetable. I kinda want the set-up like my buddy has and he has taken his 10.01 and 10.02. He still drives his on the street, is VERY streetable and still runs F.L.I.R.T., Full Leather Interior Racing Team. He has done almost NO weight reduction. Oh, F.L.I.R.T. was made up by him so no one better steal his chit…lol
