I suppose the question would be if you need to carry it around or not. The iMacs are a great workstation. The MacBooks are a great laptop.
Either one you get, make sure you get extra RAM. (Save money and buy from NewEgg)

I dunno much about Macs, but im going to say the value is generally in the dekstops… especially of you’re limiting it to a sole purpose.
I’d go w/ the desktop in this case.
Desktop. You said it’s for SDK development. If you give a developer a mac laptop to write software on they’re going to start working from Starbucks and turn into a huge douche in a matter of hours. I’m a software guy. I’ve seen it happen.
I love my macbook… Im upgrading the memory to 4GB today, but even with 2 it is awesome.
