DD questions

i finished paying off my SS a couple of months ago and ive been saving towards a down payment on a new DD. ive been looking at a couple different cars, E36 BWM’s, 03+ trailblazers, 04-05 WRX’s and bugeye WRX’s. im looking to spend between 6 and 12k . i like the 04-05 WRX’s best but most of them seem to be out of my price range. its seems the BMW’s last a while but can be high maintenance, ive also heard the subarus last a while too, is it worth paying 8k for either of those cars with 100k miles plus? any other cars i should consider im missing in my price range.

saw it, i looked at a couple other audis, kinda bland idk if i like them or not.

i’d stick with the KISS system (Keep It Simple Stupid for those who don’t know)…

Impala/Monte SS: supercharged 3.8l ones are bullerproof from my experience and a blast to drive
Silverado/Sierra? not sure if you want a pickup but you can steal one right now.
Tahoe/Yukon: I LOVE Yukons

well wrxs are pretty much not the fancy car, but are you looking for a specific mpg rating

no fwd, no big trucks, nikuk i saw that thread and although it is a great price i should have mentioned i want a manual car.

i like how they look, not fast but not gutless either, awd is a plus for the winter and still gets good MPG.

LOL already got one of those, also fuck black.

You should buy a neon, I hear they are pretty cool cars

smart car

I <3 my bugeye. I will miss it greatly when it is finally gone, it’s been an awesome car. :frowning:

Yea, if you have always been a domestic guy, a Subaru would be a jump. They don’t have the greatest suspensions, but beyond that they are awesome. For some reason used WRX prices have been dropping, and if unmolested are great, reliable cars. Get a set of snows for the winter and drive it for a couple hundred thousand…

i thought they had pretty good suspensions? i am new to them though so i probably just heard it once from someone who didnt know any better and just accepted it.

so a price tag around 8k is worth it for these cars even despite the higher mileage? ive never looked for a reliable car, always had camaro’s and junkers/shit ass beaters ( my last 2 winter cars cost a total of $800  ) so spending this much for a DD is new grounds for me and i just wanna make sure its money well spent.

you should by a wrx, just because the shop needs another one around. Hell you could even paint the wheels pink…

:mamoru: i told him i wanted to test drive it, but wouldn’t until he paints the wheels.

I’d say so, honestly I can’t think of anything off-hand that would fail. Everything is still nice and tight after 100k+ miles. And I’m moving to a 92 legacy with 190k that feels just as tight.

Look around you could even find one sub-8k hinthint

thanks! i actually really like that white one, and the silver S/C one, but i couldnt drive that in the winter it looks like there was a lot of work put into it.
