Not a day goes by without me noticing somebody else filling up their non flex fuel vehicle with the mystery juice and drive away. That makes me wonder, what exactly happens when such thing happens.
I’m going to get a rental car, that’s not compatible, bring some sort of basic performance meter (such as the Iphone “dyno” or such) and measure the performance before and after. The accuracy of the reading is not the important aspect here, but rather the affect, which will be shown.
Luckily I got good people in the rental agencies that won’t mind me filling it with the juice.
Should be fun!
r u even old enough to rent a car?
I’ve been renting for years, plus I know people :ninja
The only things I have issues with renting is Vans and Suvs, which I still rented just with complications of age.
This just got a bit more interesting.
Talked to an Avis manager, and he told me that they get the cars filled with E85 all the time and it’s not covered by insurance, they have to replace the fuel lines, drop the tank and do a lot of manual labor.
However at the Mobil the E85 brochure says that the car will be fine, just won’t run at it’s full efficiency. They tell you to keep filling it with premium gas after and it will work out.
Where there are two different views, my interest comes in to see who’s right.
Hm…
