The first thing I plan on doing to my car is debadge the side and back and also order a new grille with no M on it.
I was told that the 2 on the sides and mazda3 on the back are just stuck on so a hair dryer and dental floss will remove it. The flying M on the back will leave 3 holes so I am debating if I want to remove it and go through a body shop to fill the holes and paint them. Anyone have been through this and know how much its gonna run me?
Also, my car is a 2005 but the paint is still perfect. If I take off the badges and the paint is faded compared to what is behind them, any way to fix this without getting the whole car resprayed?
Also, is Goo-Gone ok to use on a car paint to remove any residue of the glue?
use a heat gun to get the adhesive tacky when pulling badges off and use your finger to rub/roll it off. no need for any chemicals. as for filling the holes and a respray at a body shop, it should be around 150-200 i would imagine.
I think the front and back M might stay. Debating if I wanna pick up a replacement grille for the front and back seems like it will cost too much to take it off. Def taking off the 2.3 on the sides and the mazda3 at the bottom right off the bat.
