I haven’t been into the stereo game in a while but from what I remember I’d rank them in the order of Pioneer, JVC, Dual. What price range are you looking at? What options does it need to have?
id like to stay around 150ish not any higher then 170 tho. im just looking for something that can play my ipod and that will have good sound quality with my bose speakers.
out of those 3 i would get the pioneer
they all play music… therefore there all the same

they’re all pretty average / below average pieces… i’d go with pioneer just because… no particular reason.
for the money you can buy a way better deck used from Alpine, Eclipse etc.
I’ve got a Nakamichi MB-75 sitting in the clost you can have with the amp, remote and all accessories for about 3-4 times your target price 
As stated, they’re all kinda lame. But the pioneer seems like it “looks” the best. Hope that helps
i can’t believe how cheap this stuff is used these days… it’s retarded and i don’t understand why people even bother buying new when you can get perfectly fit gear that is a couple models out that used to be top of the line for like dirt cheap all day long… ebay, your local audio shop, the friggin flea market, pawn shops etc.
i stop by this local place all the time and they have 3-4 year old Alpine decks with all the pre-outs, all the features you could need and MP3 Input for under $100… wow no manual or box… who cares.
Why anyone would buy new subs is beyond me when you cant even give the shit away online… i’ve had a set of JL12W3D4’s i had sitting for 3-4 years and cant even get $250 for them in a mint box… but for some reason dudes go into a shop and pay $800 new all day long for them ???
Zcamaro, you will definitely get the best sound from the Pioneer headunit. Pioneer headunits are known to have one of the best sound quality units from the rest of the competition. As a matter of fact, many people (including myself) say that Pioneer headunits produce the best sound quality. After going Pioneer I will never look elsewhere.
If you go with the Pioneer one you will not regret it if you’re looking for excellent sound quality.
Pioneer does make some good SQ pieces, but they also make poo… you can’t apply the SQ theory across their whole line up… maybe just the Premier line and up.
The one in the lead post is just a bare bones entry level deck
You may be right I’m not sure though because I’ve only used their Premier line of products.
As far as i know the the only difference in the premier units are the warranty is 2 years instead of 1 and the change the color of the face of the reciever.If you go onto pioneers site you can get specs and manuals,i always buy them used also.
Go pioneer. those other pieces are garbage.

I would do some searching and get a older unit for cheap. I paid less than $200 for my $400 unit. It was brand new but was one year old so price was WAY down. I would check Amazon for some deals. Usually you get a wholesale listing or some online business trying to unload their inventory. I am holding off for a nice 2-Din unit but I can’t find one I like.
