**Detail Guys** Lease Return Help.

My mom has to turn in her lease this month. But being a typical woman and not thinking before she does anything to her car, it needs a lot of help. She went and had it looked at so she could find out what it needed before it gets returned. They are talking pretty big hits $$ on the scratches and rock chips, that’s all the car has, no dings or dents, just scratches and chips.

So when she called and told me I went by to look at it. OMG WTF I can’t believe the amount of scratches and chips she has on this car. She did the good old “Lets shovel the snow off my car” thing every winter and it shows bad, most are through the paint. And there are chips in inexplicable places. I told her to give me the car and I would have it taken care of.

So my question is can anyone here who does detail help me try to save this paint? I will drop the car off to anyone who really thinks they can save this paint, but it’s bad and the car is black:( . It’s 2006 2dr Cobalt. I might attempt to fill and wet-sand the scratches before I drop it off if someone wants to take a look first and thinks it will help.

fill the stratches with single stage black
wet sand
buff
wax

That’s the plan. And I don’t mind doing the fill and wet sand, but I would like to hand it off to someone else to do the buffing.

justin i can help you out most likely. I can take a ride to your place sometime this week.

Read the return guidelines, for most lease if the damage is less than a size of a credit card - it doesn’t have to be fixed/normal wear and tear.

they really won’t say shit for scratches and chips

^^^ in reference to the last 2 posts

  1. scratching a car with a SHOVEL is not normal wear and tear
  2. a scratch made by shoveling a car off is most likely larger then a CC
  3. if it requires repainting or large amount of time to fix, yes they will say shit, because it effects the amount of $ they can get for the car
  4. 3# is compounded when the scratches are deep enough to show bare metal, because noone likes rust lines in their paint
