Dewalt impact driver

no i didnt drive yesterday

Before what?(Grammar Nazi:P)

I hear you on the corrosion issue but, “get a bigger hammer” isn’t the best solution. (See “smoke wrench” and/or penatrant spray) 800lb/ft would snap/spin/strip a lot of smaller bolts

I guess I change my wheels enough that I have never had a big problem removing them.:gotme: The only time I have had trouble is when some garage sends them home with an impact wrench.

Guys in Our Garages use the Snap On Half Inchers

Rated for i think 300 ft lbs

LOL. Before you made that post.

I always tighten lugnuts with a torque wrench.

But I use my 1/2" impact all the time on suspension bolts, exhaust bolts, motor mounts and all sorts of stuff.

I almost NEVER use it to tighten anything though.

Do you mean 11’, or 121 lbs?

On topic, I have heard good things about the bigger Dewalts, supposedly better than a cordless Snap-On.

This is a general construction tool, an Impact driver is for driving is screws. Have one and use it all the time. One of my favorite tools for sure. Not an automotive tool though, construction tool that is fucking awesome.

Drive in 4" deck screws with no effort at all, never strip screw heads. Amazed not one person in this thread knows what this really is used for/intened.

Have anybody tried one of these?

I wonder how much flow it can provide…

Edit:
I guess these are for nailer/ other one shot tools - probably not going to be able to run a ratchet or an impact gun…

Edit2:
This is more like it

just because your car doesn’t have 111 ft-lbs, doesn’t mean that it is a lot of torque.

I own a Bosch cordless impact driver and have never used it to turn an automotive bolt. Strictly used for construction like Jeller said. You could use it under the hood but that’s not its intended purpose.

Another vote for the 24V Goodyear Pepboys special. 4 years of track duty removing lug nuts (and suspension bits) without a hiccup. 1 charge lasts all weekend and it’s less than $100.
