Did a little test fitting on the '73 today...

I’m helping a good friend of mine build his '73 Camaro and we just did some trial fitting of the wheels tires. His plan is to run 4th Gen. offset wheels/tires so he has plenty of choices. So we needed to measure the flange to flange width for his custom 9" rearend and figure out what we’re gonna do up front (he has a full custom front sub-frame/susp. on the way that is about 61" flange to flange… so we’ll either need custom hubs or about 1" spacers per side to go w/ 4th Gen. stuff).

We used my extra set of 17x9 and 17x11 on 275/40 and 315/35 tires to measure things out. I gotta say, it looks sick on 'em.

Here’s a pic of a loose mock-up:

PS- The car is getting a 348 8.5:1 LS1 from APE, a 101mm Turbo, T56 etc.

wow looks awsome with those wheels!!! kind of reminds me of the hocthkins(sp) early 3rd gen camaro!!! good luck with it!!

I  ZR-1’s

Its funny how much people use the term “mock up” anymore… goddamn OCC.

awesome picture. seriously. you can see the wheels really well. good job.

hahaha

I used it long before they were on TV. I don’t know how else to describe what we did. We used 4x4s and jack stands to place 'em just to measure for the rear axle width so he can order it.

looks good…and keep us postd on the project!!

So who can name the other cars in the shop? Should be a good challenge since you can only see little pieces of 'em.

sliver color car in the first pic in front of the Z looks like a cuda

in the 2nd and 4th pick…the one where u see a primer color trunk…id say a nova!!! 68-72???

and the red one…Chevy II…dont konw what year to be exact

68 CAMARO white one, 63 NOVAor Chevy 2 red one and I think white is a 68-72 nova

:boink

my bro said that im wron with the first car…he said its a def. camaro…he said its b/c of the hood hinges…and he smacked me…i told him it looked like a cuda b/c of the front bumper has that piece going up right at the point…he said ya cudas have that…but that might be part of the motor…

edit…brother wants to see pics of the Chevy II and of the Nova 68-72 year…he has a 70 nova

Sorry… shoulda been on this closer.

First pick the white car is a '67 Camaro. Of course from that pic there’s no distinguishing it from a '68 (since you can’t see the lack of marker lights or the wing window).

So other than that slight correction oneslowbowtie got it dead on.

“Piece going up” ??? I think you’re seeing the driver’s side headlight. :dunno:

I’ll work on gettin’ some Nova pics next time I’m out there. The '71 (If I recall it’s a '71… not 100% though right now) is for sale too. It’s actually a straight 6 car that runs. He has too many projects so it has to go. :frowning:

-TJ

im not going to explain the piece going up…had to see in pic…

but ya…his nova when he got it off of my pap had a straight 6 too…that thing was decent for what it was…witht the 8.5 10bolt and 3.73’s…it moved pretty good…hahaha…but ya…if u get pics…post…how much he sellin it for?
