Difference btw megan racing coilovers

Hey guys, sorry to sound like a newb…

I’m wondering what is the difference between the black looking track version coilovers and the red coilovers which are non-track?

The price difference is not TOO different and high…?

i’m gonna guess, spring rates

If I remember correctly, it all has to do the spring rate of types of coils they have

Google is your friend. Yes the difference would be spring rates. the black ones are “track” series and the red ones are “street”.

How is the road feel of the megan racing coilovers? I mean for a street car how does it feel?

I’m assuming the track versions really are just worth for the track…

I might get them so im wondering…

I have the “street” coils in my 240, and they have been great, haven’t had a problem with them at all. Super stiff when i want them to be, and softer if need be. Ride stiffness is rad too, really tight.

Cool, sounds good.

believe it or not the track’s are actually very nice. the damper is also different in the tracks, not just the spring rates.

ridden in a car with full bushings, sways and megan track series and it wasn’t much different than my megan streets, and i don’t even have my bushings installed yet.

the only different was when you actually corner, they’re much smoother than my streets, friggn beautiful.

ive got tracks.

sick a$$ shite y0.

What the hell is up with these guys http://www.jrponline.com/

Called them up about parts and they look pretty damn pricey but besides that I mention to them megan racing coilovers and they go… “oh tohse are made in taiawn garbage, you need to buy Tein coilovers for 1500$+”

lol uhm WTF?! What the hell is up with these guys, i’m like excuse me, most guys here are getting these and reporting good quality, etc…

The guy is like no they are not durable, cheap made in taiwan, sure nice price but if you want something good, safe, etc… get Teins Made in Japan.

Uhm? What’s up with this guy’s story?

hes probably right about being taiwanese… they’re probably not the greatest quality, but they’ve only been out for ~1.5 years now so noone has really had the chance to run them over time…

but, they’re cheap and thats what matters here on SON

God damn it im really pissed off… I tried to take a nap to chilax…

So I’m going back to thinking of going with KYB AGX, but now when i looked it up it says that they wouldnt work with HICAS car… and my damn car is HICAS… I want that shit taken out anyways somehow… *(#@#@( Just really pissed off right now…

The coilovers doesn’t matter if they are HICAS or not HICAS right?

Bloody hicas…

Megan streets might not be as good as the tein RA/RE series but i guarantee they are just as good and will last just as long as TEIN HE/HA/FLEX …plus, i bet those " sales people" at JRP dont even have a clue what they are talking about…i sell tein, d2, megan, and a lil bit of JIC and they are all great, it boils down to personal preferance and what YOUR needs and budgets are like…my 2 cents…

HICAS makes no difference with KYB AGX.
