i have a sony dsc-500 and somehow the screen is broken. it was no dropped or anything but theres cracks and its just white and black. so yea, anyone know where i can get a new one? or could i possibly get warrenty to cover this? it still takes pics but is obv. usless cause i cant see zoom or like pretty much anything
Chances are warranty won’t cover it but you can try. How long have you had it?
Andy, before you even try to apply for the warranty, search for it online and read it over. Because a cracked screen USUALLY means it was dropped, and even if you tell them otherwise thats what theyre going to think when they see it. Try to find the warranty and read what you might be able to tell them happened to it. Thats what I would do…Good luck man…
maybe you can find a parts camera and swap it out?
:gotme:
buy that for 20 bucks and swap housings?

Thats actually not TOO bad of an idea. Id try the warranty first, only because it would be free. But thats a solid backup plan.
edit: While you got the housing off why dont you add some HP to the zoom lens? I wanna see that baby fly.
whered u buy it from and do u have the receipt still?
i would call Sony and see if u can get a defective swap
I broke a screen on one of my companies sony cameras like 3 years ago. It was in my motorcycle “trunk” and the screen got cracked.
Anyways I called sony and got a direct replacement for like $200 just for the screen. I had to pay it out of my pocket (crying). They aren’t to hard to replace, but I would definitley look for a parts camera to salvage it from, because sony will charge a fortune for a new replacement part.
