So for the 100th time, I put my phone on my lap when driving, and forgot about it when getting out. :picard: Unfortunately, this time it fell just right and cracked the screen pretty bad. Everything still works fine, but it’s obviously a lot more delicate now.
So what are my options. Can the Apple store fix just the screen. Estimate on cost? Can I buy a new screen and fix it?
I’m not completely sure but I’ve seen 3 cracked iphone screens and the people were still using them, and one kid was in my classes and he said he had to just get a new phone. The kid doesn’t exactly use all resources possible in class though, so maybe there is a solution.
My first thought is some kind or resin like the people who fix the windshields use. But it might mess with the touch screen.
AND…
the apple nerds at the galleria are usually pretty cool. i’ve replaced my iphone somewhere around 5x, ipod 4x, and macbook hd once (i accidentally stuff alot) without any hassle, even when it was obviously my fault. also, if they can’t replace it, or it costs too much to fix it there, they will often tell you where to find things/get it done cheaper because, after all, they are tech nerds.
A friend at work just smashed this hell out of his iphone screen. He’s going to the apple store to see if they’ll do anything for him since he has the insurance, but if they don’t I told him I’d help him swap it out. It doesn’t look like that bad a job really.
