Digital Climate control instructions

Hey all, I posted some instructions on how to do the swap. But I also need help from those of you who have done one before.

Here’s the thread:

http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=94307

Thanks
Eric

I’m very interested in this,

but your post just made me even more confused :?:

What is confusing you?

i’ve got the entire harness, dash included, silinoids and sensors…it can’t be that hard with everything to make it work…

If thats what you think then give it a try and hook me up with the info on how it goes. Cause I thought mine was going to be easy cause I have the entire dash harness and all the sensors as well.

I’m still baffeled on how to get the blower motor to work and swtich between fan levels.

you ever see my home made car harness? no? well then…

oh…who has access to an electrical engineer 24/7? is that me? damn…well now…PLC’s are nothing compaired to a digital climate control wiring job…

hey do you guysw know where Ican get the harness, silinoids and sensors

I am missing those

I really wish that the people that have done this before speak up and say something!!! What good is having the knowledge to do it and not to share it? I’m doing the best I can and I’m having a really hard time at it. So if you want to bring your smart remarks here then fine so be it, but it wont help anyone. If you have that kind of access then do it and please tell everyone here how you did it, what wires and colors you used.

Oh and if anyone knows where and how to get ahold of a S13 Silvia wiring diagram for the climate control PLEASE POST IT . I have looked everywhere on every forum I can find with no luck. All I find are engine and ecu diagrams, like thats going to help… :frowning:

Thankyou,
Eric

hey buddy, what do you think i do everytime? everyone told me a ca ignitor wouldn’t work on a sr…guess who figured that one out…and i have the pictures with colour coded wiring to post when i get around to that. I don’t hoard information…i just mearly meant, i digi controler isn’t going to be as tuff as some think…you just got to know how to read the wiring diagrams. Besides we really haven’t decided what we’re gonna do with the RHD harness and climate control…we have 1 RHD 240 in the works and it just makes sence to put that into it…but it may go into the new project car.

we shall see. But no worries i will post how i get it to work,

as i remember Zilvia had a writeup somewhere on how to get it to work but function as a normal heater control unit…

Well after 4hrs in the garage and under the dash I remembered that the temp sensor is different. I’m glad that I kept all the stuff from the clip before I threw it out. Anyhow I swapped out the tempsensor and fan controller and Walla… works!! But now the directional flow is messed up you know the face, floor, and defrost. I think that I might have fried that portion of the unit on accident. Everything else works though, temp control, fan speed, fresh/recir air. I have pictures of the entire harness and blower motors and sensors. I’ll just finish editing them so they are easy to understand then I’ll post them in the NICO forum and attach a link to it here.

Thanks guys.

I’ve deleted all the posts of flamming.

C’mon guys, this is the tech section, keep the crap to PM if you have beef.

Unlocked.

Stay on topic or I’ll ban you all.

Ok, first I just want to respond to a response that I got from another post about locking threads. First my install is 100% working, heat, A/C, and Auto, not half like one moderator said. Second the job of the moderators is to read the posts and delete the stuff that people say that is dubed inapropriate, not to just lock the thread and be done with it.

Thankyou iQuABoB for cleaning the useless comments by some of the members in my thread about the digital climate control.
Instead of locking them action should be taken on the members that posted not closedown the topic.

Ok, now my peace has been said.

I have finished my project and it is working great. Here is the link to the thread I posted the pictures on,… very informative:

If you have the complete JDM dash harness and sensors then you are there and will have a much eaiser time with the install.

But if you just bought your digital climate control off of eBay or some other store and only have a cut harness then you need these parts to make your own harness and some other areas to find sensors that will work from other cars:

  1. Japanese Digital Climate Control
  2. Plug to fit Japanese Digital Climate Control (from 89 Infiniti i-30)
  3. Sunload sensor* (from 96 Maxima)
  4. Plug for Sunload sensor*
  5. Ambeint Air Temp Sensor* (from 96 Maxima)
  6. Plug for Ambient Air Temp Sensor*
  7. In-Vehicle Air Temp Sensor* (from 96 Maxima)
  8. Plug for In-Vehicle Air Temp Sensor*
  9. Aspirator* (from 89 Infiniti i-30)
10.Thermo Control Amp (from 96 Maxima)
  10. Plug for Thermo Control Amp
  11. Thermal Transmiter (from 89 240sx)
  12. Plug for Thermal Transmiter
    • = Not needed if you do not wish the AUTO function to work. AUTO
fuction keeps interior at a selected air temperature.

-Extra Parts you need to make a new harness
14. Plug for Intake Door Motor
15. Plug for Door Mode Motor
16. Plug for Air-Mix Door Motor
17. Plug for Bi-level Door Motor
18. Plug for Blower Motor

You can use your existing US OEM harness but you must unwire the High speed fan relay ie. the blue relay beind the stereo and analog climate control.

can someone put a sticky on this or put it in the FAQ section before it dissapears to the bottomless pit of the forum?

I think the list of parts is very helpful…

thanks

Not to say any of this is wrong but there are easir ways to do this, in fact this guide answered some questions i still had lol so great thatnks for that i would not have been able to get a parts interchange list with out it … way to go man good work, where this guide focuses more on how to make a harness

mine is about how to do it on ka wiring and save your self a but load of time… mine is working 100% eacept i killed a fan resistor fucking aorund with it and i’m now down to one speed… but before that it worked mint…
anyways my guide is here

Just found this thread and I’m trying to do a digital climate control swap and right now I’m missing a few sensors like the blow speed controller? With your guide could I still make mine work or if you have the guide saved somewhere that’d be awesome to email it to me at

iiymij@hotmail.com

I suppose HeatW and I are still the only ones who know how to do this swap. oh well, you want it done, come see me. (heatw’s in japan)
