I would at least paint the floor with drylok, cheap and really works well in basements.
Anybody finishing a basement should get one of these before any floor is put down or drywall hung. Money well spent.
:lolsign: the kid with the mustache in that one picture…
Not my kids
I took the pics during our new years party.
It’s pretty much the only time the place is clean all year.
I plan on adding a water powered backup when I do the floors.
I will probably do something about the laundary room before get to the floors though.
I want white ceilings, shelves, and a work bench in there so the wife can do wedding flowers and I can fix things.
(realisticaly, its so I have more place to pile shit up throughout the year)
Are your basement floors pitched a lot? I just tiled a basement floor and it kind of made things hard and goofy while laying. I would imagine carpet would be a lot easier, as long as you have the sump back-up as you mentioned
My basement does not have an aggressive pitch anywhere. But there are some pretty good high spots where the cracks are.
There were 4 or 5 active cracks in the walls when we moved in and it looks as though the old lady that lived there never wnet into the basement or cared abotu the puddles for YEARS!.
I’ve been plugging along on my basement as well. Great way to spend the Holidays…
