^Really? Maybe, it’s just me then because I think it makes the kitchen Pop just right…
What are you using for the undercabinet lighting? I see LED “pots.” Are they from Autolumination?

^they are little LED modules. 3 LED’s per strip… I have 10 of them. I chose a more natural light as opposed to the bright blue ones.

i may be up for it… FYI i just ordered about 180 LG and Samsung washers/dryers, i’ll send you a list soon.
Hot damn that looks great!!!
Please, and thank you.
just a little update. I was getting a lot of questions about the seam and how to help hide it. I ended up getting some silicon and adding some wet mortar mix for color. There is some movement between the two slabs mainly because of the cabinets, not much…but a solid mortar joint would surely crack. The silicon atleast gives it some flexibility. I may need to play around with the ratios a bit on the mortar because too wet and it cracks when it dries, too dry and it is too rigid for a flex joint.
Either way, this is what it looks like after a week:
Still can’t believe how nice that is for some $5 bags of concrete! I think it looks right up there with granite.
boo your pics aren’t loading
^fine for me. Don’t know why… they are FB hosted.
Wow, fantastic project! Thats a cool faucet. What kind is it and how does it allow u to choose between hot or cold water and pressure?
forward and back for temp, and left and right for pressure.
i thought you hated any threads that i documented DIY’s with pics? And Mr. Bean is correct. The handle is multi-directional.
That’s exactly how mine works, I love it.
Still looks awesome…
Link for said under-cabinet lights…?
WOAH! sorry…i know this is totally overdue…but here is the link for the lighting. I went with a “warm” 2500K light for a more natural color.
edit:
looks like you installed the lights beforehand.
thank god
thread bump.
So i have been getting tons of positive feedback and decided that i want to start a business down here in West Palm doing architectural concrete. I loved this project and enjoy the freedom and creativity. I’m hoping to focus on Countertops, Vanities, and artistic things like contemporary water/fire fountains. I’m looking for warehouse space now to start playing around and hopefully do it as a full-time hobby.
If i can tap into the high-end market here and brand myself, I can see getting $50K - $75K for single kitchen countertop project. easily.
more project threads to come?
Doing what you enjoy and making money? Does it get better?
You did amazing your 1st try, looking forward to see what mastery you come up with as you gain experience.
GL
I can’t believe people would pay $50K++ for a counter. If you can do it rake that cash in!!
