DJ Set Burning Help

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good program that will allow indexing a 60+ minute DJ set into separate tracks without inserting pauses in between.

Seamless. I dont want to alter the music, just be able to skip around using track markers.

I know Feurio can do it but I was looking for some thing thats a little faster then marking each track myself. I want something that automatically sets markers every 3 minutes or so.

You can’t burn from mp3’s, you must convert the the tracks to wav. The click you hear between tracks is the ID info at the beginning of each mp3 that originally contained the genre, notes, lyrics, etc. It gets converted to a brief jumbled click by all burning programs.

I use Audacity, it’s free. Once you import the track, delete the info at the beginning and there’s a little bit at the end you must also delete. If you want the mix to be perfect, import the next track, do the same and then paste it to the end of the other track amd make sure the wave matches seamlessly. If it doesn’t, undo it, trim and paste again. Once it’s perfect, export the track as wav.

FYI this is very time consuming but if that click gets on your nerves as much as mine, it’s worth it.

I am not burning individual tracks. I am burning one 70 minute set. essentially one track.

I just needed to index that track without splitting it. Feurio worked. I was hoping for something a bit more automated but Feurio works well.

Well what was giving you the breaks between tracks? I’ve only heard that when trying to burn a set with seperate mp3’s.

I used to do that with Wavelab, but it is a pricey program, at $400 back when I bought it almost 10 years ago. Rather than burning one long track, I would drop track markers in the set at the start of each individual song. There is nothing stopping you from dropping them at preselected intervals, either way you’ll end up with a seamless mix with multiple tracks, not one long track.

I actually bought Wavelab to do exactly what you are looking to do, and it worked very well for that purpose (and did alot more, too). Too bad the version I have won’t run on Windows 2000 or XP. It is for 95/NT, but there are newer versions.

You may have to convert to WAV in order to do the editing, but it is possible that the newer software can work in mp3 format as well.

Cool, thanks. I will check it out.

Would a .cue file do it?

What set?

Its not worth the effort. Feurio does what I want. I was being lazy.
