The recent thread selling a prepaid visa card got me wondering.
I have $1300 worth of $100 prepaid visa cards. I just want a pile of money to pay bills, not cards. Does anyone know if they’ll work in an ATM?
Edit: it says on the visa website that they will, but don’t most ATMs charge a fee? Does this mean I wouldn’t be able to withdraw $100 on a $100 card if I owe the ATM $2 or whatever for the transaction?
Yes,with some of them they can be set up with a pin# on the website.$100 isnt possible but $98 might be,some M&T ATMs will actually give singles and change you wont have to worry about a remaining balance.
no matter what the bill is, if you use debit, they will continue to request additional tender until the balance is paid, and youll have to keep swiping cards in the machine.
Its like that everywhere when you empty a gift / debit card
if you punch credit and there isnt enough it might reject it, so use debit
The card itself took $1 for ‘cash advanced’ the ATM took $3 for it being issued at another bank…so I was able to withdraw $46. I didn’t care about $4, but with $1000 worth it would suck a little
