does anyone use wind mobile?

just wondering what you think of their network?

thinking about switching

i heard it was shit

They lease rogers towers but only certain ones.
Currently they don’t have a lot of covered areas but are obviously expanding.

My dad was looking into buying a contract with them before Bell offered him a home package. They seem to have good deals and nice contract prices, but their main fault is service range.
Our cottage would be a total deadzone for Wind at the moment.

im with wind. there deals are sick, but their range all depends on where u live. im on the complete edge of their border so its not to great for me, network wise.

im in etobicoke, think its good here?

is it good in sauga?

if you sue it mostly in hte urban centres you should be fine dude.

Someones lurking SON while on his phone…

it sucks outside of toronto.

i got it for my wife and i wish i could get it.

Rogers/chatr just tries to spread rumors/bullshit as its competition. Likewise with mobile and so on. Everyone keeps talking about how wind’s signal drops, is poor, blabla, but this was in fact in the very beginning, as my wife had it from the get go… now… no problem.

And their range is expanding… most of us live in GTA not on farm lands… people don’t realize that you have to have ‘cell towers’ and that it’s not a satellite phone… so of course you have to be within certain cell towers that are paid for by the service provider/rented/or owned.

There is no contract, there are always specials, etc…

The only reason I’m not on it is because of my iphone, they use their own method of communication and alas iphone does not support it. I wish I got an android instead which they do :-/

Wife’s plan is unlimited US/Canada, voicemail, unlimited txt, for 25/month (was a special) and got a phone free… this is for one year htough then it switches to like 40 bux a month.

Guy at work got two blackberry phones brand new models for him and his wife for 25/month (was another even better special) unlimited everything including internet (wtf), what a steal… for life not limited to ayear was a limited time offer.

On top of that wifey got ‘worldline’, and she gets to call anywhere in the world free its like 15bux a month… fucking deal… who needs a home phone? (This is not a wind service though but u call a local number and get unlimited monthly world wide what u chose).

The only thing I’m not liking about wind is the fact that they use AWS frequency. I like my iphone. But I might still get a Bold and switch as their plans are pretty awesome

I use koodo its cheap and coverage is decent its similar to wind no contract and tab

http://www2.windmobile.ca/en/pages/storesandcoverage.aspx

you can go past the home zones a bit and it still works.

$40 unlimited everything, service is good enough for me in Hamilton.

i have it. The AWS frequency can be balls sometimes, other than that i get full coverage from pretty much pickering to burlington and north to newmarket.

sauga, etobicoke and parts or brampton are good it works well in woodbridge as well. I think its fair for the price

Many people don’t realize that this company will be giving Telus, Rogers and Bell huge competition within a few years and their rates will go up. WIND is one of the biggest providers in the World. About 3 years ago WIND bought out TIM in Europe and is now giving Vodafone a major ass kicking in Europe. Soon I can see WIND doing the same here, they grow a little bigger and then they buy out their closest competitor. I can see WIND buying out Fido soon.
I have been with Telus since 1998 when they were called Clearnet back then. They had good rates, made it big and then jacked up the prices. Right now they are the most expensive provider in Canada. My contract expires next month and I am thinking of switching to WIND too… The coverage thing bothers me because I spend a lot of time in Vaughn north of Woodbridge around the Kleinburg area and I also spend a lot of time in the Niagara region therefore it might be a problem for me.
I think I will wait it out for a few more month’s and see what happens, I’m sure they will widen their range, WIND will be huge here as it is in Europe.

you will get no service in niagara, its fine out to hammer and thats about as far as you can go with it.

I tried it, could barely get any service in Durham region
