doesnt make sense to me.

Thank j00

Just because the oil appears “dirty” doesn’t mean that it is time for a change.

Most synthetic oils change color and look “dirty” after their first heat cycle. Srsly.

I didn’t say it would break down. I said oil can get dirty at any time so I’ll change it more often to avoid a Travisity.

Who said anything about appearance? Broken down viscosity from constant tuning can cause bad shit to occur. Again, I am talking about a modded car but I am anal and still change every 3K. I got $20 to waste I guess.

Can I have your old oil?

Don’t trust them. 15k is absolutely insane. They’re just trying to get you to fuck shit up so they can make money off you.

A Cobalt isn’t worthy.

Have your synthetic tested. Seriously. If they say it needs to be changed at 3k, I’ll pay for the test.

In the car that hasn’t been driven in about 4 months?

While I have no idea any tests or even the validity of the tests, I am not going to believe any car manufacturer’s claim about when I change my oil. That’s like listening to my bar tender who thinks I should have another double.

But, from my experience with my own oil changing and tuning, I have seen gassy oil so I’d rather not take a risk necessary or not.

Many european cars also use massive quantities of oil in order to keep the oil “good” for longer periods of time. Compared to the 4qts thats the norm in many domestic and imports, Mercedes uses approx. 8qts of oil in just about every engine. Mercedes recommended is every 12k.

Speaking of useless tests, visual is probably the worst way to “test” an oil. Send it out, have a chemical breakdown done.

Dont be ignant, dawg.

Porsche claims 15K service interval and 30K on the filter itself. I’ve worked on alot of cars that follow these service intervals, nothing fucked up inside…

If the oil is good and doing it’s job there’s no need to dump it out, period.

fuck I haven’t changed the oil/filter on my '95 taurus since I bought the POS almost 2 years ago, 20K miles roughly since then. I just keep adding what leaks out over 5k miles or so. :crackup

lol I know. I just wanted an exscuse to post a retarded picture. ;p I don’t have to change oil on my sedan… it leaks bad enough that its got three fresh quarts every 3 months. :banana

5-6k in the golf and every 10k in the tdi.

I change the oil on my car every 3k because it gets blacker than a kenyan’s ass

That is quite dahrk :nod

i go 5-7500 in my gti and i use castrol 5w-40… my daily uses some oil so i add but do a filter change every 10k on it regardless of how much i add in that time frame…

When the oil sloshes and stinks of oil, I don’t need a test.

$20 and I am golden.

A recent test showed LS1 doesn’t need oil. Unfortunately, Smokin’s car wasn’t so lucky. :ahh

:ponder If the LS1 doesnt need it, how come Royal Purple advertise 9hp gain by using their product?? :mwahaha
